MG HS 1.5T Trophy TST
MG North EDSA4.8/5

It’s well built for its price. If you’re coming from MT to DCT it’s easy to get use to since the feeling is almost the same minus the clutch pedal. Overall a very satisfied owner of MG HS Trophy.

MG HS 1.5T Trophy TST
MG Greenhills4.3/5
Mike C · Oct 27, 2022
MG HS. Choosing from a Geely Coolray, Hyundai Creta, Changan CS35 and CS75, My wife and I landed on the MG HS because of looks and comfort. Here are my thoughts: Superb: Interior Space - I challenge you to sit at the back row and recline it all the way. The comfort of a reclined position for your passengers is a gift and they will appreciate you for it. The Coolray and Changan CS35 sits upright. Looks: Arrived in style with the executive look especially when you are in an all black SUV. Changan CS35 looks like a gaming laptop with all the red accents. Geely Coolray sport edition now also has red accents. Some things I wasn't a fan of: Fuel Economy - Weakest link. 7KML on bad bad traffic with AC set to 22 or 23 degrees and on 3rd fan. Driving Performance - True to the reviews, the MG HS will roll backwards if you don't step on the brake on an incline or engage the Auto Hold Assist. Takes getting used to especially if you came from a matic with torque converter. Interior - I am a 5'11 guy and I sit high on the driver side, the center console where the rear view mirror is connected blocks my field of view resulting to a limited vision of what is in front of me. The A pillars are a bit thick which also creates a blind spot. I have to compensate and turn my head neck and body just to make sure I don't hit a motorcycle on the driver side. When you get the car from the dealership, the first thing you do is have your tires checked. It came with 34PSI for all 4 tires. Wrong figures. The manual states 37 at the front and 31 at the rear. After changing this, the ride comfort was amazing. Truth be told, A question for Coolray and CS35 has crossed my mind. For these 2 pocket rockets, how often would you use the sport mode? Sure they have the power to send the front tires squealing on the pavement, but how often? If you drive highways, go for it. My usage is mostly for city. The MG HS has enough power on "Super Sport" or even just the "Sport" mode for me to overtake. Lastly, I would have opted for the the Changan CS35 and the Geely Coolray due to pricing (they are cheaper than the MG HS). But the styling of these two gives a different vibe. Seats are somewhat upright and the red accents wasn't to my wife's liking. I am in my mid 40s and I have lost my eagerness to be seen in an aggressive sport themed car. Using the MG HS (All black) to the office lets off a different vibe. Like an executive has arrived or a person of importance has landed. Yeah yeah, call me vain, at least I am vain parallel to my age. Cheers!
