The Philippines has recently welcomed the initial shipment of Ford Everest Wildtrak units, finally putting an end to speculations about the availability of this ruggedized edition of the seven-seater SUV in the country. Ford Philippines has made an unexpected move by introducing the Everest Wildtrak in a 4x2 configuration, a departure from the conventional 4x4 setups typically associated with such off-road-focused models. These units are set to be offered in limited quantities, with no official figures disclosed as of now.
Ford's decision to offer the Everest Wildtrak in this specific configuration signifies its strategic positioning within the Everest lineup. This model will now serve as the highest-tier 4x2 variant, surpassing even the Titanium+ 4x2 trim. Priced at P2,369,000, which is P160,000 more than the Titanium+ 4x2, the Everest Wildtrak 4x2 comes equipped with the distinctive "Wildtrak" exterior and interior appearance package.
The exterior upgrades include notable enhancements such as a Bolder Gray-colored bumper H-bar, grille surround, wheel lip moldings, fender vents, and mirror caps. Further augmenting its rugged image are the unique Asphalt Black 20-inch alloy wheels. A standout option is the exclusive Luxe Yellow color, while more understated choices include Meteor Gray, Absolute Black, and Sedona White. The addition of the "WILDTRAK" lettering on the hood provides a final touch to the exterior transformation. Inside the vehicle, the Everest Wildtrak 4x2 showcases Cyber Orange stitching on its leather seats and a soft-wrapped dashboard in the same accent color.
In terms of features, the Everest Wildtrak 4x2 inherits many of the attributes from its Everest Titanium+ 4x4 counterpart. These include advanced features like Matrix LED headlights, a 12-inch TFT gauge cluster, tire pressure monitoring sensors, and an array of driver assist technologies. Among the comprehensive suite of driver aids are features like AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) support, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keeping aid with lane departure warning, automatic high beam, blind spot information system with rear cross traffic alert, reverse brake assist, and a 360-degree camera for enhanced situational awareness.
Under the hood, the Everest Wildtrak 4x2 is propelled by a single-turbo 2.0-liter diesel engine, producing 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque. The power is delivered through a six-speed automatic transmission, a setup consistent with other Everest 4x2 variants.
All in all, the arrival of the Ford Everest Wildtrak 4x2 in the Philippines has quelled uncertainties and brought excitement to enthusiasts. Its unique configuration, bold aesthetic enhancements, advanced features, and powerful powertrain make it a noteworthy addition to Ford's SUV lineup, catering to those who seek a blend of rugged capability and modern convenience in a 4x2 package.
