Nissan North EDSA has recently posted on social media about a kitted Nissan Patrol NISMO for just under five million Philippine Pesos; however, the post does say body kit, so we won’t be getting any performance enhancements such as an uprated engine, Bilstein suspension, beefier brakes, and a sport-oriented interior with bucket seats.
However, you can think of it this way, the current Nissan Patrol Royale already sports a massive 5.6-liter V8 engine making 420 hp and 560 Nm of torque. That’s a lot, plus you get an exquisite Japanese V8 exhaust tone with the interior comforts and luxuries of an executive sedan or an Emirates business class seat, whichever way you want to look at it. So in the performance aspect, it’s already on par or above its closest competition for less money, making it a good value proposition in its segment.
The comprehensive kit includes the front bumper grill, front and rear bumpers, fender flares, front fog lamps with wiring harness and clips, Nissan and NISMO Patrol emblems, fog lamp covers, a front chin and skid plate, rear bumper valence pieces, as well as step boards.
The Patrol Royale has a retail price of P4,698,000, and transforming it into a NISMO-like vehicle would require an additional expense of P301,000 for a grand total of P4,999,000. Considering that you won't receive any of the NISMO enhancements, such as an upgraded engine, Bilstein suspension, improved brakes, or a different interior, this customization comes at a considerable cost. Nevertheless, if you have extra money to spare and simply want to enhance the appearance of your Patrol, or purchase a unit with the kit, now you know where to obtain the necessary components.
We may have to wait a little longer until we can actually get the fire-breathing NISMO variant here in the Philippines, but hey, it’s not like the current Nissan Patrol Royale was lacking in the performance department, to begin with.
