Dongfeng Forthing Friday 2024

The Forthing Friday entered the Philippine market on October 18, 2023. The Forthing Friday was launched alongside the Aelous Huge crossover and the Nanobox EV. 

At launch, the Forthing Friday came in two distinct variants, the 430 km Luxury and 630 km Exclusive variants. In regards to pricing, the Forthing Friday with a 430 km range is available at P1,980,000, while the long-range variant, offering 630 km is priced at P2,580,000.

The Dongfeng Forthing Friday is a compact crossover electric vehicle that is powered by a 150 kW electric motor paired with either a 57.8kWh or 85.9kWh battery pack providing 430 km and 630 km of range respectively. 

The Forthing Friday’s electric motor generates 201 hp and 340 Nm of torque, all immediately available at the Forthing Friday’s front wheels. Recharging the Forthing Friday using a standard 6.6 kW onboard charger takes approximately 10 hours for a full recharge. Alternatively, with a fast DC charging system, the vehicle can be recharged from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 35 minutes.

In terms of suspension components, the Forthing Friday has MacPherson struts up front and a Multi-link suspension setup at the rear. The EV crossover sits on 19-inch alloy wheels with ventilated disc brakes equipped on all four wheels. 

At the forefront of the Forthing Friday’s kit are two screens, one serves as the instrument panel and multi-info display, while the other is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This touchscreen system provides Bluetooth and USB connectivity and supports video playback. Further amenities include a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear A/C vents, power-adjustable seats, and leather upholstery.

In the safety department, the Forthing Friday boasts a comprehensive suite of cutting-edge safety features. These encompass an anti-theft system, automatic door locks, anti-lock brakes (ABS), an electronic stability program (ESP), traction control, hill-climb assist, automatic parking, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, lane departure warning system, driver fatigue monitoring system, and six airbags.

Moving to the looks, the Forthing Friday has the sleek and sporty design you’d expect from a flagship EV. At the front, you’re immediately greeted with a grille or lack thereof that is characteristic of modern EVs. The sharp LED DRLs are accentuated by the black-colored trim housing the LED headlights and fog lights. Underneath the bumper is a black lip with orange accents that continue to the side skirts and rear bumper garnish. 

Moving to the side, the Forthing Friday rides on stylish two-tone 19-inch alloy wheels that match the side skirts. At the back, the Forthing Friday has a radical rear end, with the main attraction being the wraparound LED lights that match the rear door’s cuts and curves. In terms of dimensions, the Friday measures 4,600 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, and possesses a wheelbase of 2,715mm. 

Inside the Friday EV are a duo of digital displays on the dashboard. One functions as the instrument panel and multi-info display, while the other is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter offers Bluetooth and USB connectivity and can also play videos. Additional amenities comprise a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear A/C vents, power-adjustable seats, and leather upholstery.

Buyers can choose between two tones of interior color, a light color featuring cream-colored leather or a dark interior with black leather upholstery. The interior, much like the exterior appears sporty and focused, exuding an air of excitement.
