Hyundai Santa Fe Overview
Named after an iconic American city, the Hyundai Philippines' Santa Fe boasts the same aura, power, and performance as its namesake, and brings these qualities on the road with its classy and tough exterior. The Hyundai Santa Fe comes out as one tough contender to beat. Leather seats welcome the driver and six other people, while an intelligently designed interior gives passengers an airy and comfortable cabin.
As for power, the Santa Fe comes with three engine choices: a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Smartstream four-cylinder gasoline engine and a turbocharged version exclusively available in the 2.5T Calligraphy variant. The naturally aspirated Smartstream G2.5 delivers 191 hp and 246 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the turbocharged Smartstream G2.5T engine produces 277 hp and 422 Nm of torque, coupled with an eight-speed Dual Clutch automatic transmission. The last option is reserved for the Santa Fe Hybrid: a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Santa Fe Hybrid generates 226 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

The current generation Santa Fe made its official debut in the Philippines on March 15, 2024, The fifth-generation Santa Fe is now boxier and is now only powered by two versions of Hyundai’s Smartstream engine, a naturally aspirated and turbocharged version both with a 2.5-liter displacement.
On July 18, 2024, Hyundai Motor Philippines brought the Santa Fe Hybrid into the Philippine market alongside the Tucson Hybrid. This variant of the Santa Fe came with a launch price of P3,330,000.

- Exterior
-
Breaking away from its previous model introduced in 2018, Hyundai has taken an unconventional route focused on lifestyle-oriented design principles. As a result, the new Santa Fe showcases a visually captivating exterior and a roomy, adaptable interior. A standout feature is the expanded tailgate, which unfolds to create a terrace-like space that is perfect for various leisure activities.
The distinctive boxy shape and profile of the redesigned Santa Fe can be attributed to its elongated wheelbase and broad tailgate area. At the front, it features a raised hood, H-shaped headlights, and defined fenders, while the H-shaped headlights seamlessly integrate with the lower front design featuring an H-motif, ensuring a cohesive frontal appearance.
Viewed from the sides, the longer wheelbase of the new Santa Fe results in a squared-off roofline, creating a robust volume around the fenders and sharply defined wheel arches. This configuration also leads to a reduced front overhang and enhances the visual impact with striking 21-inch wheels, or, 20-inch alloys if you opt for the GLS variant. Moving to the rear, the Santa Fe boasts a simple design, featuring taillights with the same H-shaped light arrangement found at the front, along with the prominent "Santa Fe" branding on the wide tailgate.
The Santa Fe's significant proportions are accentuated by its large windows and quarter glass panels, ensuring an imposing presence from any angle. Whether viewed from the front or back, the Santa Fe's size and shape command attention.
- Interior
-
Inside, the interior of the fifth-generation Santa Fe prioritizes clean lines, integrating horizontal and vertical elements while incorporating the signature H-motif design into the dashboard and air vents. The interior's elegance is further highlighted by an array of advanced features, including the Panoramic Curved Display and dual wireless charging capabilities. This innovative curved display seamlessly combines the 12.3-inch digital cluster with the equally large infotainment system, enhancing both visibility and user convenience.
Furthermore, the interior emanates a feeling of spaciousness, thanks to its brightly colored seats and headliner. The inclusion of soft-touch wood-patterned garnish and Nappa leather seats, adorned with intricate embroidery, adds a touch of luxury. Hyundai's commitment to sustainability is also evident in the use of eco-friendly materials throughout the Santa Fe's interior, such as recycled plastic for the suede headliner, car mats, and second and third-row seatbacks, as well as eco-friendly leatherette for the crash pad and door trim covers.
- Safety
-
The Santa Fe line’s safety equipment is standard for all variants, which means regardless of the variant, buyers will have all the safety equipment available for the Santa Fe, from the 2.5T Calligraphy variant to the GLS 2WD variant.
The Santa Fe’s safety features include dual front SRS airbags, side and curtain airbags, an anti-lock braking system with Multi-Collision Brake (ABS), an electronic stability control system (ECS), Hill-Start Assist, a tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX anchors, and a vehicle immobilizer.
As for intelligent driver aids, the Santa Fe has Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of features. This suite includes Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, a blind spot monitor, Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist, parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
