Valentine's day is right around the corner and we suspect that many of you are looking for some great date ideas. Worry not as we have compiled a list of 7 things you can do this valentine's day to make it feel special for your significant other while having some fun with your car as well. These ideas won’t break the bank and can be just as romantic as your typical wine and dine dates. It can take you and your loved one to locations outside of the city and be affordable at the same time. With that said, on to the list.
Car picnic with a view
One great date idea that you can integrate your car with is going to the mountains and having an in-car picnic. It's also an affordable option for a date as you don’t have to spend too much on expensive food. You can drive to a scenic area and pull out a variety of your favorite foods to share. This creates the potential for a very personal date if you can keep track of your significant other's favorite treats and meals. You can also get creative by bringing any sort of entertainment you like, this can come in the form of music, a movie, board games, or even just a simple heart-to-heart conversation.
The best thing about this kind of date idea is that you can combine it with other activities such as watching the sunrise, going out camping or off-roading, or even just a quick stroll outside of the city for some fresh air.
Coffee shop date
When we say a coffee shop date, we mean heading to the nearest Starbucks or Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. We mean going out of town to find those coffee shops that come with a great view. You get to bring your car on a quick little road trip and you can get to experience some clean fresh air out of the city as well. It will also be a great atmosphere for you and your date to talk over a nice hot or cold cup of coffee while admiring the view if the shop happens to have one.
Off-roading or camping
If you happen to have an off-road-ready vehicle such as a pickup truck or SUV then why not take a quick trek into the wilderness with your loved one. It's a great way for you to bond with your car and your significant other while admiring the scenic views that only nature can produce.
While you’re at it you can even turn it into a camping trip as well. This gives you the opportunity for some great one on one time with your date while you enjoy nature and an under-the-stars date as well. Since you will be away from the hustle and bustle of the city this will give the chance to appreciate one another and the relative silence and back to basics feels that camping has to offer.
Roadtrip or food crawl
Another date idea you can do that will take you, your vehicle, and your loved one out of town is by going on a food crawl. In this way, you can experience the best food offerings that your town or another area has to offer while spending some quality time with your significant other. You can even make it into a road trip as well if you want to hit different locations at the same time for a truly gastronomic experience for the both of you.
Fast food feast
This one is for those on a budget and with an understanding significant other. You can bring your car and hit up your favorite drive-thrus to prepare for a fast-food feast. You can even turn this date into a fun game where you do a game of rock paper scissors to decide who gets to pick the next drive-thru destination. In this way, your feast will have a variety of food options from both of your preferred fast food locations. You can even spice it up a little by going to a specific drive-thru for a specific food category such as one for drinks, one for appetizers, one for the main course, and one for desserts.
Drive-in movie
Here’s another classic date idea you can do with your car, a drive-in movie. This gives you plenty of opportunities to snuggle close to your loved one and watch a movie inside the privacy of your vehicle. If there isn’t a drive-in movie theatre near you, you can get creative and make your own. If you have a big enough garage or a space that is big enough to hang a sheet outside of your garage you can make your theater there with the use of a projector and a couple of speakers. Of course, the option of just cuddling inside your own home while watching a movie is still there, especially if the weather outside isn't favorable.
Sunset or sunrise date
If you and your significant other are morning people then maybe going on a sunrise date will be a great idea for you two this valentines day. This allows you guys to grab some coffee or breakfast while on the way to your destination. You can easily bundle up with a blanket while enjoying your food as you slowly watch the sunrise up above the horizon.
For those who aren’t morning people and watching the sun go down is your next best option. It gives you more time to buy your food for an impromptu dinner date and will also give you the chance to watch the stars for a bit after the sunsets. To get the best results for this, we highly recommend looking for a place outside of the city where light pollution is significantly less prevalent. Just like the other date options mentioned above, this will work with any kind of vehicle, but for the best results, we highly recommend using a pickup truck.
