Buying your first car can be a hard task to accomplish as there are many things you need to consider before you decide to spend your well-earned money. This holds especially true if you are on a tight budget and just want a reliable mode of transportation. With that said, the Hyundai Reina presents itself as an ideal candidate for your first car as it comes with an affordable price tag, a durable interior, a frugal engine, and many more other features that you will like about the vehicle.
Affordable price tag
One of the main reasons why the Hyundai Reina is a good first car is because of its attractive and affordable price point. The South Korean sedan can be had for as low as P683,000 for its entry-level manual transmission variant, while those looking for an automatic gearbox will find it with the nameplate for P733,000. Whichever variant you choose both models are well below the P1,00,000 price point making them more attractive to those on a tight budget. That being said, both variants of the sedan are still come well equipped for their respective price points.
Simple looks
Just like the rest of its stablemates, the Hyundai Reina comes with the brand’s fluidic sculpture design language. This gives the vehicle a simple yet timeless look that gives the vehicle a couple of sharp angles and curvaceous body lines to help give it some character. It also helps that the Reina looks like a smaller version of its bigger brother the Accent especially when it comes to the front fascia of the sedan. That being said, this design should age gracefully over time as it isn’t as flashy or as overdressed as its competitors.
Durable interior
While the Hyundai Reina may not have a flashy interior, everything within the cabin works and does so in an intuitive manner. The controls are straightforward so that right when you get the vehicle you know what they all do without the need for you to break out the owner’s manual. Everything is also within arms reach including the window controls which have been placed under the manual climate control of the vehicle. That being said, expect too many soft-touch materials to be found inside the vehicle as it aims for a more durable look and feels. It’s not a bad thing as you will know these plastics will survive the test of time and even beyond your ownership period with the car.
Furgal engine
As a first-time car owner, one of the things you will probably look for in a vehicle is if it is fuel-efficient especially as gas prices are constantly fluctuating. You will want something that will consistently deliver you great fuel economy figures day in and day out. That being said, the Hyundai Reina has got you covered with its 1.4-liter gasoline engine that produces 94 hp and 132 Nm of torque. Don’t be fooled by its appearance as this little motor can dish out 10.8km/L in the city and 23.8km/L on the highway.
Back to basics 1-DIN radio
The Hyundai Reina may not come with the latest tech as evidently seen in its much older back to basics radio head unit it does what it needs to do flawlessly. However, if you want to upgrade it to something a little more modern Hyundai Philippines can sell you an Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capable head unit. Keep in mind that this will add a little bit more to the overall price of the vehicle, but at least the option is there to upgrade if you want to.
With all things considered, the Hyundai Reina is a great option for those looking to get a no-muss no-fuss sedan as their first car. It may not come with the latest features but it does come with proven technology that will work flawlessly for years to come. Not to mention it also comes with a fuel-efficient gasoline engine along with an attractive price tag that will fit almost any budget. Where you pay for it in cash or through financing, the Hyundai Reina is very much an affordable option to consider.
