Laboracay – the unofficial moniker for the Labor Day weekend that’s spent at the breathtaking beaches of Boracay. This trend that rose in 2014 is the time when employees gets a chance to leave their work and splurge on a solid holiday break. With the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila, a little time away from the daily fiasco is so inviting.
With that in mind, the car nuts inside us made us wonder: what car models are best to bring in Boracay? Or to any beach (because it’s obviously hard and costly to bring a car to Boracay)? We’re pretty sure there’s a lot in your mind right now, but here’s what we think. Let us know if you agree or not.
Shall we?
Ford Ranger
There’s always this gym rat amongst your friends and for us, he (or she) is like the Ford Ranger. This American pickup truck has a masculine body contour and bulging fender flares that look like a perfect match to the sand and the sea – just like that friend who’s posing for an Instagram post.
Mazda MX-5
The sultry curves and squinty eyes of the Mazda MX-5 is like a sexy, sophisticated girl by the beach who’s not afraid to show some skin. Retract the roof and she’s now in a 2-piece bikini without cover ups.
Nissan NV350 Urvan
If you’re traveling with your family or friends, it’s much better (and efficient) if you can bring them in 1 go (yeah, just like groceries). The Nissan NV350 Urvan can do the trick – with up to 18-seating capacity and enough space for luggage.
Volkswagen Beetle
The sea is oftentimes synonymous to a happy-go-lucky lifestyle and that you don’t have to worry about life that much – just like the Beetle. It’s classic, it’s cute, and it’s hip. It’s a perfect match to the laid-back life and a solid choice if you want to pose by the car at the beach. *click*
Suzuki Celerio
The Suzuki Celerio isn’t exactly the first choice when choosing a car for the beach, but its fuel efficiency tells you that you should. It’s the reigning champ of the 2016 DOE Euro 4 Fuel Economy Run, with a phenomenal score of 29.14 km/l. That means less money for gas and more money to party!
MINI Cooper S
Another classic, another solid Instagram shot. Just like the Beetle, the Cooper S has that laid-back, fun, and easy going appeal that’s perfect for the beach. Plus, the exterior paint job of the Cooper S is strikingly perfect against the sea and the sand in the background.
Polaris Off-Road Buggy
If bumming by the beach isn’t your thing, the Polaris Off-Road Buggy is your perfect match. It can virtually go anywhere – except, of course, through the water and from the city to the coast. Nevertheless, it’s the perfect vehicle if you want adventure after busking around by the sun.
Ferrari California T
For the record, any Ferrari (or any supercar, for that matter) are perfect for the beach. That’s, if you want unsolicited attention. Then why the California T? Just like the MX-5, its retractable roof is like a lady letting go of her cover-ups – only a bit edgier and costlier to maintain.
