One of the go to segments of the practical Pinoy family is the MPV, mainly for its generous legroom, cargo space, and versatility. As a family guy like this author, we would like to give our loved ones the best there is. With this, Volkswagen offers its Touran premium MPV.
The Touran, a 7-seater MPV, has a simple yet elegant exterior design that may appeal to those who want a vehicle that exudes class. This is highlighted by its large halogen headlights, side mirror mounted turn signal lights, and chrome radiator grille which is topped off by the German brand’s logo.
Inside, more than 20 possible storage compartments can be found for stowing small items. Moreover, its 2nd row individual seats give passengers their own personal space, while its 3rd row seats may come in handy for larger families. But in case more cargo space is needed for a family outing or mom’s grocery run, the 2nd and 3rd row seats can be folded independently.
Aside from that, the Volkswagen Touran comes loaded with one of the most important things families search for in a vehicle – safety. It comes standard with Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) with Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). This helps the MPV avoid locking the brakes, over/understeer, and wheelspin. It’s also equipped with Park Distance Control, automatic headlight activation, and the ISOFIX mounts for child safety.
In addition, the Touran is also fitted with driver, front-passenger, side, and head curtain airbags to help keep the family safe. This is further enhanced by the Proactive Occupant Protection System which automatically closes the windows and tightens the seatbelt as the accident happens.
Meanwhile, powering this family MPV is a 110 hp 2.0L TDI (turbo direct injection) diesel engine that can achieve low fuel consumption rating and emissions with the help of the 6-speed automatic DSG (direct shift gearbox). It also has 280 Nm of torque – enough to pull its weight whether it’s empty or fully loaded.
Overall, the Volkswagen Touran offers enough power to haul the family and cargo, has flexible seating configurations, and generous luggage space for everyone’s travel needs. Combine these with its many safety features, the Touran ensures you and your family will have an enjoyable, worry-free, and comfortable travelling experience.
