Suzuki Philippines’ recent addition of the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission to the S-Presso has made this cute little crossover a much more viable option for those not wanting a third pedal for city commutes. Aside from the addition of AGS, let’s discuss in more detail why the Suzuki S-Presso makes for the perfect city runabout.
Fuel-efficiency
The S-Presso is light. Tipping scales at 726 kg takes little power to haul this mini crossover around. Thanks to its weight, it can also be fitted with a small fuel-efficient engine that can go up to as high as 25 km/L. The S-Presso also features Engine Auto Start-Stop (EASS) which turns the engine off during a complete stop which makes for fewer trips to the gas station and more time for other activities.
Space and capacity
Don’t be fooled by its size. The S-Presso can comfortably seat four people with a tight squeeze for five. This makes the mini crossover a great vehicle to tour the city with friends or family. Trunk space is also sufficient, with the added versatility of rear folding seats should you require to haul bigger objects, and its wide rear hatch opening makes for easy loading. The strategic placement of cubbyholes and cupholders also helps in storing smaller objects with ease.
Size
The compact sizing of the S-Presso helps make for easy maneuverability around the city, which can help you navigate tighter streets trouble-free. The short hood, rear hatch, high-seating position, and great visibility can also make for convenient parallel parking in the streets and tight spaces in malls, giving you peace of mind when navigating around the metro.
Driving dynamics
Size is one thing, and driving dynamics is another. The peppy K10B 1.0 3-cylinder engine which makes 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque is responsive to your inputs and is more than enough power to get around the city with ease. The chassis is also willing to respond to your steering inputs and the suspension can easily absorb bumps and potholes to help keep you and your occupants comfortable. It also comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) for added safety. The addition of its high ground clearance also means that you won’t scrape your S-Presso should you encounter any urban obstacles in your way. The inclusion of an easy-to-reach huge infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity also helps with navigation and audio setup.
Style
Let’s face it, having a hip and stylish vehicle to drive around the city is quite cool. The S-Presso does not disappoint, with its cute and unique styling paired with its ride height, you are guaranteed to not look like anything else on the road. Quirky exterior color combinations are also available to match you and your personality with bright color options and two-tone options. The interior is also made out of hard-wearing plastics, so you can be assured that this mini crossover can age well for years to come.
