The Ford Ranger has been around long enough for people to grow very attached to their vehicles. The nameplate has been around for quite some time now. The practicality and amenities that Ford bundles in cement it in the marketplace as one of the most laden pickups in the Philippines.
We can go on and on about the Ranger in length, but is it really that great of a car? Why don’t we read on about the satisfied comments of actual buyers who’ve used our Car Owner Reviews feature? The Ranger managed to score a 4.7 out of 5.0 stars based on our rating system. Style and interior space were the top dogs in the category, with the other criteria following close.
“SO FAR WITH MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE OKS NA OKS”
So Art Taleon was so enthusiastic to comment about his Ford Ranger XLS Sport, that he turned on the caps lock and made sure that his voice was heard. Don’t worry sir Art, we heard you loud and clear.
“SO FAR WITH MY DRIVING EXPERIENCE OKS NA OKS. SA MAINTENANCE WALA PA NAMAN KASI BAGO PA. MAYBE THIS COMING JULY MAGKAALAMAN ANG GASTOS. HE HE HE”
It’s not every day that you see a review like this. Buying a new car means that you won’t have to attend to maintenance and repair woes that much. The first few maintenance intervals could cost a bit, but that’s a small price to pay for the expertise of the Ford casa.
“I don’t have regrets buying this car”
An anonymous owner left this review for his Ford Ranger 2.2 FX4 4x2 AT. Great choice for the money. Style and substance without the hefty price tag.
I dont have regrets [about] buying this car. Im not stressed and tired anymore during heavy traffic. Proud to own one. Thanks.
No regrets when he made the purchase. No stress in heavy traffic. Automatic transmissions help ease the pain of being in traffic, and the Ranger has dimensions that tower over sedans and other small hatchbacks. We’re also happy to hear that this owner is a proud one.
“It can carry loads of harvest”
It’s not uncommon that midsize pickup trucks double as a tool for a small business. The Ford Ranger makes quick work of sizeable loads with its over 1,000 kg maximum payload capacity.
This car has a generous side, it can carry loads of harvest as we’re using it on our vegetable deliveries. Very comfortable [on] the inside, I like the interior accessories too, I just wished the front and rear dash-cam comes with the car. Overall great purchase.
This owner, mentions that even the interior accessories gave her reason to mention it. The buyer purchased an FX4 4x2 MT, which comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear parking sensors, and a slew of other standard features. However, she did share the same complaints that we had about the model: It doesn’t come with a reverse camera. Though, the front dashboard camera isn’t commonly found on spec sheets and purchased as an additional accessory.
“You feel the difference and ford delivers a great driving experience”
Another anonymous buyer penned in his review, stating that he is not a first-time pickup truck owner. He mentions that there is a remarkable difference between how a Ford drives in comparison to the competition.
Coming from a different brand of pickup truck, you feel the difference and Ford delivers a great driving experience. It is the basic model and I can still say it has smooth delivery of power, steering, and response on even at bumpy roads.
Smooth power delivery and good steering response on bumps speak volumes of how well the Ranger handles. In our testing, the Ranger outperformed quite a few of its rivals and had the lightest steering of them all. The variant purchased by the buyer was a 2.2 XLS MT, which says that you don’t need the top-of-the-line variant to get a great driving experience.
“Very confident and comfortable”
Joey Sta. Agueda lauded the Ranger for its driving capabilities. As in our testing, bumps and potholes don’t really phase the midsize truck all that much. He also purchased the top-of-the-line Ford Ranger 2.0 Wildtrak 4x2 AT, which means that he gets to enjoy that sweet 2.0-liter single turbo engine with more torque than the base 2.2-liter.
Very confident and comfortable truck to drive. Handles all the slight bumps and potholes in the metro without breaking a sweat. It would be awesome if Ford could offer the 8-way power-adjustable seat standard among all Wildtrak variants though. I’m getting the same fuel consumption figures I did with my 2015 Vios 1.5G which was an awesome surprise.
The buyer then goes on to state that 8-way power-adjustable seats would have sweetened the deal, however, most impressive is the fact that the Ranger he has now was able to achieve the same fuel economy figures as his 2015 Toyota Vios 1.5 G. Well, that’s diesel power for you.
