There are many things to consider when choosing your first car. These include appearance, performance, tech features, value for money, and of course, safety. Fortunately, there’s a car that has these characteristics – the Ford Fiesta Hatchback.
In this article, we’ll look into its top-of-the-line 1.0L Sport+ EcoBoost variant to see why it’s perfect to be your first car. It has all the essential features present…and more.
It looks good
The Ford Fiesta Hatchback looks attractive from all angles. It has a sporty, aggressive aura; with a rear spoiler, clad diffuser, and 16-inch 15-spoke rims to complete the look. Its fascia is crowned by the trapezoidal chrome grille, complementing the swept back head lamps and lipped front bumper.
Moreover, the leather seats inside are a perfect match to its exterior styling. The dashboard also has a sleek design with the controls and head unit display right at the center for symmetry and easy access.
It’s safe
If you’re a youngling looking for your first ride, then the Fiesta is something that your parents will appreciate. Otherwise, safety is still something that you should look out for as lives depend on it. Aside from the conventional dual front airbags, traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, and anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Brake Assist, there’s more in this car that separates it from its class.
It has Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which prevents skidding when taking sudden evasive maneuvers or when in bad weather conditions. Furthermore, it also has rear parking sensors and camera – essential features for first-time drivers who are having difficulties parking their car. Lastly, the Fiesta is reinforced with Boron steel – a type of steel used in the aerospace industry – so you’re assured of its rigidity.
It has high-tech features
As the Anti-Distracted Driving bill has already been passed, it’s important that you concentrate more on driving than anything else when behind the steering wheel. The Fiesta complies with this law through the SYNC software in its head unit. This allows you to pair up your phone with the head unit, giving you the capability to make a call hands-free. You can also control your music through simple voice commands, as well as having your text messages read to you.
Additionally, the Fiesta is equipped with keyless entry and push-button start system. With these features, you can just go into your car and start the vehicle without having to take the keys out of your pocket. No more fumbling.
Lastly, downward and upward slopes won’t be an issue for this car as it has Hill Launch Assist (HLA). Its 3-second hill hold gives you time to release your foot on the breaks and press on the accelerator pedal. This mitigates unintended roll downs when trying to move on a steep incline.
It’s powerful and economic
This particular variant of the Fiesta boasts something under its hood that’s uniquely Ford. It’s powered by a 1.0L EcoBoost power plant – the latest engine technology that the American marque offers. Its relatively small displacement is misleading; the turbocharged engine can churn out a maximum output of 125 hp and 170 Nm of torque, which is at least 13 hp and 30 Nm stronger than the bigger 1.5L non-EcoBoost variant.
Best part is, since the engine is small, it consumes less fuel with an average rating of 23.25 km/l. In addition to that, the Fiesta is mated to a 6-speed PowerShift transmission with SelectShift. This gives you a manual-like transmission, allowing you to downshift in situations like overtaking or when driving downhill.
All these features mentioned are available in the Ford Fiesta Hatchback 1.0L Sport+ EcoBoost with a price tag of P905,000. This amount is competitive with its rivals, but the all-in-one package that it brings gives it an edge, making it a perfect choice for a first car.
