The Kia Seltos is a subcompact crossover being offered by the South Korean automaker. It sits in between the Stonic and Sportage, making the Seltos a middle option in Kia Philippines’ 5-seater crossover range. Aside from its strong practicality points, the subcompact crossover also combines a good amount of features with efficient performance. Notably, it’s a vehicle that fits the millennial lifestyle for so many reasons, and we’ve managed to list down some factors on why the Kia Seltos is perfect for young and youthful.
It too has a ‘style that’s iconic’
Like the Stonic, the Kia Seltos does look funky and boasts in terms of youthfulness. Its stylish exterior can even be had with a vibrant range of colors along with an optional black roof for range-topping SX trim. Some striking design cues include the brand’s tiger-nose grille accentuated with LED clusters, 17-inch Y-spoke alloys, and the SX-exclusive blacked-out side-mirrors that blend in with the optional black top. Overall, its exterior design should appeal to many millenials, and like the Stonic, the Seltos too has a ‘style that’s iconic’.
Comfort is assured all thanks to its spacious cabin
Like most crossovers, space shouldn’t be a problem in the Kia Seltos. Average-sized Filipinos have no problem fitting at the front seat, while rear occupants get a good amount of leg and headroom, allowing them to sit comfortably throughout the journey. The Seltos will surely thrill your barkada with its spacious cabin.
Cargo space is generous as well
Despite it’s rather small dimensions, the Kia Seltos is huge for its size. On paper, the subcompact crossover has 433-liters of space with the second-row seats up. Fold them down, and its figures go over 866-liters which is pretty good for its segment.
It’s well-equipped with features
Standard across the Kia Seltos range is an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with various multimedia functions like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which allows you to project Google Maps or Waze through the screen and play some music with its 6-speaker sound system.
You can also get cruise control plus combination leather and cloth upholstery on the EX and SX trims, while other SX-exclusive features include a push-start button with smart-keyless entry, single-zone automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel, and a center console with a sliding armrest.
It’s also fuel-efficient
The 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission registers good fuel economy figures. This combination is able to produce 147 hp and 179 Nm of torque. In the city, the Seltos returned 8.2 km/L while cruising on heavy traffic in EDSA. Out on the highway with the cruise control set at 90 km/h, it did an impressive 22.4 km/L. As for mixed driving conditions at an average speed of 60 km/h, the clock registered 14.3 km/L.
It's positioned in a very competitive segment, yet the Kia Seltos should stand strong on its own, given its strong stylish exterior, good amount of convenience features, strong practicality points, and its efficient performance that’ll lessen your visits to the gas station.
