Following the success of its predecessor, the 7th generation Sonata featured an overall much more refined and much more grown-up aura, without taking away its well-love integrity and spirit of “elegance meets sportiness”. Resonating the same famous note, but with a much more Hi-Def tone, the 2015 Sonata’s overall design ascends a more luxurious and fluidly kinetic level.
Seeing it on the metal, its new-look front facia, chin, grille, and the brand’s signature cat’s eye headlights evoke a “Let’s get down to business” aura. That emotionally-driven design sets the pace for an exciting visual experience, as it showcases a cleanly-sculpted set of side panels, culminating toward a much more redefined rear end. And yes, this car also has those trendy dual exhaust tips that are at par with some of its luxury sedan competitors in terms of visual appeal and audible satisfaction. Topping it off is a panoramic sunroof, allowing not only a much clearer interior illumination, but also a much more relaxing driving experience.
Ingress and egress are a treat worth experiencing, as its wide-swinging front and rear doors beckon its occupants
Zeroing in on the interior and one can already notice the vast improvements exerted by the brand to make the 2015 Sonata a top-class nameplate in the luxury sedan segment. Ingress and egress are a treat worth experiencing, as its wide-swinging front and rear doors beckon its occupants, luring them to hop in and feel the abundance of space, comfort and luxury. The 2015 Sonata features an all-leather interior with smooth, soft-touch panels, altogether giving its occupants that snazzy feel. Across the dash is a whole host of high-tech amenities like an integrated multimedia entertainment system, governed via a 4.3inch touch-sensitive LCD screen.
Speaking of sights and sounds, the night was further made extravagant by an awesome display of graceful agility, courtesy of none other than the country’s ice skating pride, the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Figure Skater Michael Christian Martinez. In-synced with an array of audibly pleasing music, Martinez clearly demonstrated his figure-skating prowess, gracefully exhibiting power, speed, and agility, much like the Sonata and its performance and on-road behaviour.
Under the hood of the 2015 Sonata is a potent 2.4L inline 4-Cylinder 16-Valve DOHC Theta-II Engine with Dual CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Timing) and MLA (Mechanical Valve Lash Adjuster). This power plant fires out 178 horses with a pulling power, amounting around 23.3kg/in. Power control comes from a 6-Speed Shiftronic AT, spinning the front wheels.
These four aspects bind together to define the 2015 Sonata’s mission to give its driver the very best luxurious driving experience with value for money in mind
All these innovations in aesthetics and engineering can be summed up to a concept which gives the term “RSVP” a whole new meaning – RUN, STOP, VERSITILITY, and PROTECT. These four aspects bind together to define the 2015 Sonata’s mission to give its driver the very best luxurious driving experience with value for money in mind, in other words, a long term luxury car with a very capable engine performance, stopping power, daily comfort and usability, and safety.
“We are about to unveil the next-generation model of a Hyundai favourite. Redesigned and re-engineered, down to the details of premium comfort, safety, and performance, making for nothing less than a brilliant customer experience, in the manner of a world-class brand, a world-class product.” – Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. President and CEO Ms. Fe Perez-Agudo
In closing, Ms. Agudo announced that “The all-new Sonata now comes with an 8-year or 160,000 Km Limited Powertrain Warranty – another first from Hyundai in the Philippines.”
The huge Ice Skating Rink in SM Mall Of Asia has been a witness to some of this year’s biggest automotive festivities, and without a doubt, Hyundai Philippines takes it home, Just in time for the Christmas Season.
Welcome the All-New 2015 Hyundai Sonata, redefining the Modern premium.
