The Accord is one of Honda’s 10 vehicles in its lineup to receive a 5-star rating via NCAP testing. The first vehicle to get it was the 2012 City, which was followed by the 2013 Civic. Honda has consistently been getting high marks for safety with its vehicles. Prior to the Accord the current-generation Honda Civic also got a 5-star rating.

For scoring the ASEAN NCAP values adult protection at 50 percent of the score, child protection at 25 percent, and safety technology at 25 percent. The all-new 2020 Honda Accord is equipped with Honda Sensing technology, a suite of features that include an advanced driving assist system, supporting the driver to avoid a collision or mitigate the impact if one occurs. Other safety features that helped give the Accord a high score is the inclusion of Parking Assist, Multi-view camera, and Cross-traffic monitor.
The midsize sedan also features an Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure which lets the vehicle retain a lightweight design while being safe. The Accord also has a full range of active and passive safety technologies such as six airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Multi-angle Rearview Camera, Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Automatic Brake Hold, and Honda LaneWatch. All of which makes the vehicle safer and easier to drive.
