Chery Auto Philippines officially launches its newest crossover the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. The newest model to join the local lineup will slot under the flagship Chery Tiggo 8 and above the Chery Tiggo 7. The new vehicle brings with it more premium styling over its non-pro stablemate and comes with a host of features that is as equally enticing as those found in the Tiggo 8.
Exterior
On the outside, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a massive grille that comes with a strong unique design that is flanked on either side by Matrix LED headlights that are paired with LED daytime running lights. The vehicle also comes with aggressive cuts and creates on the front bumper along with large foglight housings to give the vehicle a sportier look.
Moving over to the side of the crossover and it comes with a rising beltline that kinks towards the rear quarter along with a floating roof to help give it a more premium look. The Tiggo 7 Pro also rides on large 18-inch wheels that help give the vehicle an imposing stance.
At the rear, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a familiar design, the 5-seater crossover like its bigger brother the Tiggo 8 emanates the same design language at the back. It comes with a few cuts and creases and angles especially on the lower bumper along with LED taillights that nearly meet at the middle of the tailgate. Speaking of the tailgate it also comes with an automatic open function that activates via the vehicle's smart key.
Interior and Technology
Entering the cabin of the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, you are greeted with a spacious, premium, and familiar interior as the crossover shares design cues from its bigger brother the Tiggo 8. Aside from that, it also comes with an abundance of red accents found all throughout the front half of the vehicle, especially on the dashboard and on the door sidings. Ambient lighting is also present in the vehicle along with leather seats, further giving emphasis to the premium feel of the crossover. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof as well as power seats for both the driver and front passenger.
As for its tech features, the 5-seater crossover is well equipped as it comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display along with an 8-inch AC full touch panel. It also comes with an electronic control air conditioning system that also comes with dual-zone temperature control functionality. When it comes to the infotainment system, it is important to note that the Tiggo 7 Pro does not come with Android Auto, however, it does come with Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link instead. Android users will have to utilize Bluetooth and USB functionality of the head unit instead along with the proprietary screen mirroring application. Aside from this, the vehicle also comes with a wireless charger along with a remote start function.
Safety
On the safety front, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is also well equipped for its segment. It comes with 6 airbags in total with the driver and front passenger getting one each along with front side airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program, emergency brake assist, brake override system, brake assist system, traction control system, as well as the hill descent and hill hold control. The safety features don’t stop there as the 5-seater crossover also comes with a 360-degree camera that also doubles a reverse camera which is also paired to reverse parking sensors. Chery states that the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with 4 sensors at the front and 4 at the rear. Together with the 360-degree camera, these will give the driver a better understanding of his or her surroundings.
Power
Under the hood, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro comes with the same 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine found in the Tiggo 8. Power output remains the same at 145hp and 210 Nm of torque. However, one notable addition to the vehicle is a 9-speed CVT instead of the DCT found in its bigger brother. Just like the rest of the lineup power is sent exclusively to the front wheels of the crossover. With the addition of the CVT, it seems that Chery Philippines wants to gear the vehicle towards fuel efficiency giving you the best possible return for the fuel you feed the car.
Price
Taking a look at the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro’s price list reveals that the vehicle comes with a very competitive price. For slightly over P1,120,000 for its introductory price and slightly under P1,200,000 for its standard retail price you can get your hands on a well-equipped crossover that comes with a 1 million kilometers or 10-year warranty on the engine, a 5 year or 150,000-kilometer warranty general vehicle warranty, along with a free 3 year PMS package, and free 3-year emergency roadside assistance.
