The Nissan Rogue, or otherwise known as the Nissan X-trail locally, has been causing quite a stir in the past few months. The Japanese crossover has been making the rounds on the internet’s rumor mill with photos and new information about the vehicle being leaked. This time, however, a new teaser image has been released from Nissan itself.

The teaser image only shows the vehicle from a low front quarter angle and not much else. The image does, however, confirm the photos that have been leaked earlier in the year. The teaser photo confirms that the new crossover will indeed come with the Japanese brand’s signature V-motion grille, however, in a wider form factor. The all-new Nissan X-trail will also be sporting a new dual-layer headlight design with slender headlamps being placed higher up on the vehicle’s front face that contour with the fenders. All these changes and more result in a more squared-off nose that has been designed in order to meet with stringent pedestrian safety standards in other markets.
While the body of the vehicle is new, it still may still carry over the same CMF-C/D platform as the current generation. Power options may come from the brand’s new 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine that makes between 182 to 188hp and 241 to 244 Nm of torque depending on the tune. While not yet confirmed Nissan could put a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor in the vehicle as well which could give it a significant bump in power. The 2.0-liter powerplant makes 248hp and 380 Nm of torque. Transmission options should still be the same with a CVT being the go-to choice for the vehicle. A hybrid drivetrain is also rumored to come with the vehicle, however, this is still unconfirmed.
The all-new crossover will launch for the 2021 model year on June 15, 2020, at 9:00 am EDT, when converted to Philippine time, its unveiling will be scheduled on June 16 at 9:00 pm. Nissan Philippines has yet to release an official statement with regards to if it will be launching a local version of the all-new X-trail anytime soon.
