Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has officially set a launch date for the all-new HR-V. At its launch on April 19, the 2022 version will become the latest subcompact crossover challenger in a competitive market segment. Interested customers can also reserve the new HR-V at 37 dealerships nationwide beginning April 1, 2022.
So, what's new with the 2022 Honda HR-V? It features a brand new exterior look, highlighted by a sleek and sporty grille and sharp-looking LED headlights. The sides still have the integrated door handles on the C-pillar, making the HR-V look decidedly coupe-like. The sloping roofline and unified taillights also add an element of inspired design.
Stepping inside, the all-new HR-V has gained a more ergonomic cabin with carefully chosen materials. The horizontally designed dashboard benefits from a floating touchscreen infotainment display, presumably equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The HR-V also gets a new air conditioning system with an air diffusion feature.
Performance-wise, Honda packed the new HR-V with two powertrain options. The first is a 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine for the base model S variant, while a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine sits under the hood of the top-spec V model. Both power plant options connect to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Unfortunately, there's still no hybrid version of the HR-V coming to the Philippines for now.

What's most exciting with the 2022 HR-V is the inclusion of Honda's active safety suite, Honda SENSING. The new model will gain the following features:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Road Departure Mitigation System with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
- Auto High-Beam (AHB)
- Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN)
The 2022 Honda HR-V will sell for P1,300,000 for the base S CVT model and P1,600,000 for the top-of-the-line V Turbo CVT variant. Available colors include Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Premium Opal White Silver (exclusive to the top-spec model). A P20,000 premium will be imposed on the Platinum White Pearl and Premium Opal White Silver color options.
The all-new Honda HR-V will launch on April 19, 2022. Interested customers can reserve the new subcompact crossover starting April 1, 2022.
