BYD Philippines is expanding its Seal EV sedan lineup even further with the launch of the new Seal Advanced. This new electric sedan perfectly bridges the gap between the hybrid BYD Seal 5 DM-i and the performance-focused BYD Seal.
Priced at P1,998,000, the Seal Advanced offers a more affordable alternative to the Seal Performance while still packing plenty of features. Though it’s less powerful and comes with two-wheel drive, it retains the quality and refinement expected from the Seal lineup. Performance figures are understandably toned down, with the Advanced delivering 201hp and 310 Nm of torque compared to the Seal’s 522 hp and 670 Nm. The zero-100 km/h sprint also slows to 7.5 seconds, a noticeable difference from the Seal Performance’s rapid 3.8 seconds.
When it comes to design, the Seal Advanced closely mirrors the sportier Seal Performance. It retains the sleek, sloping fascia that flows seamlessly into a dramatic roofline. The rear maintains the same curvaceous shape, with a taillight that spans the entire width of the vehicle. Visually, the Seal Advanced and Seal Performance are nearly identical, it’ll take you quite a lot of time to even detect a difference.

The similarities between the two Seal EVs are also evident inside the cabin. Both feature a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The seats are also identical in design and comfort.
On the safety front, the Seal Advanced is equipped with the DiPilot suite of advanced driver-assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, automatic collision detection and braking, and a 360° camera, ensuring a secure and confident driving experience.

As we’ve mentioned before, the Seal Advanced is priced at P1,998,000. For a four-door electric vehicle with as much kit as this, the Seal Advanced provides a great alternative for people who don’t require the blistering performance of the Seal Performance and just want something much more tamer for day-to-day driving.
