BYD Cars Philippines is pushing forward with its mission to grow its lineup in the local market, this time with the launch of the new eMAX 7. While the recently unveiled Shark 6 DMO marks BYD’s entry into the EV pickup segment, the eMAX 7 sets its sights on a different, largely untapped space for electric vehicles — the MPV market.
With the addition of the eMAX 7, BYD’s lineup now boasts an impressive 10 models — offering something for nearly every type of driver, with the exception of commercial vehicles.
As with most BYD models, the eMAX 7 comes equipped with the brand’s signature 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, paired with a 6-speaker sound system. Standard features include automatic climate control with a PM2.5 air filtration system for improved cabin air quality.
Additional highlights in the eMAX 7 include a wireless charging pad, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, leather seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, and rear parking sensors — all designed to enhance comfort and convenience.
Under the hood, all variants of the 2025 BYD eMAX 7 are powered by a single electric motor, available in two power outputs. The Superior Captain variant delivers 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque, while the Standard version offers 160 hp with the same 310 Nm. Both are equipped with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries — the top-tier model features a 71.8 kWh battery, offering up to 530 km of range on a full charge, while the entry-level version houses a 55.4 kWh unit, good for up to 420 km.

Aside from the eMAX 7, BYD also displayed the smallest member of the BYD line, the Seagull hatchback. The Seagull is a stylish five-door battery-electric city car, blending compact proportions with a sleek, sporty design. Powered by a 30 kWh BYD Blade Battery, it offers a driving range of up to 300 kilometers on a single charge — ideal for getting around without constant recharging.
Under the hood, it packs a 74 hp electric motor delivering 135 Nm of torque, capable of reaching speeds of up to 130 km/h. It also sprints from zero to 50 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, making it agile and responsive for navigating through busy urban traffic.

The next car in the booth is the Shark 6 DMO. Built on BYD’s innovative Dual Mode Off-Road (DMO) platform, the Shark hybrid pickup is engineered to conquer rough terrain while delivering the smooth, fuel-efficient performance of an electrified powertrain. Under the hood, a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine is paired with dual electric motors—one on each axle—providing all-wheel drive capability and a combined output of 430 hp and 650 Nm of torque. It’s one of the most powerful pickups in its class.
But here’s where it really stands out: the Blade Battery offers up to 100 kilometers of electric-only range, perfect for city commutes without using a drop of fuel. Paired with the hybrid system, the Shark can travel over 800 kilometers on a full tank—raising the bar for fuel efficiency in the pickup segment.
