It’s confirmed! After going through some critical analysis and formulating numerous assumptions, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) is indeed launching a facelifted Toyota Vios. The said launch event will commence this coming Saturday, July 25, 2020. It will also be virtually done on TMP’s official Facebook and Youtube pages so the public can also join the experience.
Toyota Motor Philippines’ best-seller will only sport a minor refresh. As based on the previous and current teaser images, the updated model will have a slightly updated bumper now sporting a large black trim which gives it a more sporty appeal. The fog light housings on the other hand have also been revised which are now executed vertically.
The interior remains a hidden sanctuary. Given that this is only a refreshed model, the overall appearance of the interior should remain the same, although there's a slight possibility that certain panels and materials might be changed for some instance. Also, additional features should further empower the subcompact sedan. Perhaps, Toyota would give its infotainment a bit of an upgrade, given that the recently launched Toyota Wigo now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone integration.
Powertrain options should perhaps stay the same as well. The current Vios actually has two engine options, including a 1.3-liter and 1.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engines. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a CVT. Assumingly, both engines could have uprated horsepower and torque figures as compared to the outgoing model, although it still remains a mystery for now.
The Toyota Vios remains the brand’s best-seller in 2019. With a refreshed model on the loose, Toyota should continue generating more Vios sales in no time. Again, the virtual launch will happen this Saturday at 6 PM. So stay tuned for some updates.
