The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the Uniform Light Truck Ban will be put to test starting today, March 15, 2017, until Saturday, March 18.
In a Facebook post by the MMDA, light trucks are banned in EDSA and the entire stretch of Shaw Boulevard. The light truck ban will take effect from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for Southbound vehicles. On the other hand, the dry run for those headed North will start from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

As a review, the uniform light truck ban is one of MMDA's proposal, aside from the postponed modified odd-even scheme, to reduce the volume of vehicles in EDSA. The ban is believed to cut 3,000 light trucks traversing the said thoroughfare during rush hours.
Full implementation for the uniform light truck ban will be imposed from Mondays to Saturdays starting March 20, 2017.
