Ferrari scores a hat-trick after it received the Red Dot: Best of the Best award for the design quality of the J50 model. The award coincided with the year which marks the 70th anniversary of the Italian marque.
Built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Ferrari in Japan, the limited series J50 has wowed the judges at this year's Red Dot Awards for the Product Design competition. The 2-seater roadster, which took inspiration from 488 Spider, boasts an aggressive futuristic design and a mid-rear-engine layout. The slim headlights, which is unconventional for current Ferrari line up, makes it stand out among the Italian brand's exotic fleet.
Of note, Ferrari said that only 10 units of the J50 will be built in the spirit of the brand’s fuori serie (custom-built car) tradition.
Aside from the J50, 3 more models from the Italian manufacturer also caught the attention of the international jury. Ferrari received Red Dot distinctions for the design quality of the 4-seater GTC4Lusso, the limited edition convertible LaFerrari Aperta, and the 458 MM Speciale.
