If you want a rugged Ford Everest that looks tough and can go off-road, the best you can do is go for the Titanium+ 4x4 variant and modify it with some armor for more toughness. The top-of-the-line Everest here in the country may be capable of the rough stuff, but it needs more equipment to make it a true off-roader.
Over in Australia, Ford has recently introduced a new variant of the Everest dubbed the ‘Tremor’. This new variant gives the Everest some additional equipment that nearly puts it in arms-reach for Raptor status.
Upgrades begin with an upgraded suspension that includes Bilstein position-sensitive dampers and new springs. This rugged SUV is equipped with General Grabber AT3 tires and boasts an additional inch of ground clearance over the standard model. In addition, the Everest Tremor comes with a Rock Crawl drive mode for enhanced off-road traction borrowed from the Ranger Raptor.
In terms of design, the Everest Tremor sports a redesigned grille framed by auxiliary LED lights. It also comes with a steel plate and front tow hooks for added durability. For those seeking even more rugged features, the optional Rough Terrain Pack includes an auxiliary switch bank, an ARB Stealth Bar at the front, and ARB Under Vehicle Armour. Inside, the SUV features premium ebony leather-accented seats with the Tremor logo embossed on them, all-weather floor mats, and Tremor badging on the front doors.
The Everest Tremor is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that delivers 247 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This robust engine is coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission, which distributes power to all four wheels.
The price for this handsome hunk of an SUV? Ford Australia prices the Everest Tremor at 76,590 AUD, of course, this is the base price without any optional extras. Converted to Philippine pesos, this amounts to around P2,900,000, taxes not included.
Should Ford Philippines introduce this V6-powered beast to the market? Given the strong following the Everest already enjoys in the country, an off-road-focused version would likely be a welcome addition to the lineup.
