Ford Philippines is expanding its local lineup with its latest addition – the Ford Ranger FX4 4x4. The new variant will help boost the off-roading capabilities of the Blue Oval’s trucks in the country. Originally launched in January of 2020, the Ford Ranger FX4 was only made available with a 4x2 drivetrain. It came onto the scene with a unique design, refined interior, along with a slew of smart and safe features that help widen the appeal of the Ranger lineup.
The Ford Ranger FX4 4x4 is an exciting addition to our Ranger lineup as we continue to complement and enable a diverse range of customer needs and lifestyles. It is a fully-loaded truck with a competitive pricing that will strengthen our position in the 4x4 pickup segment.
Exterior
Similar to that of the FX4 4x2 the more off-road capable variant features a black mesh grille, unique FX4 18-inch black alloy wheels, extender black tubular sports bar, and black accents on the side mirrors caps, door handles, front and rear bumpers, and fender features. All these combined, help give the pickup truck a more prominent look. Thanks to its standout decals along the lower part of the doors and an emblem on its tailgate, the FX4 seeks to impress those who want to buy a unique looking pickup truck.
Interior and tech
Moving on to the interior and the Ranger FX4 4x4 carries with it the same FX4-embossed leather seats and floor mats as well as race red stitching accents found on the soft top instrument panel, center console, and door trims. Like its 4x2 sibling, the 4x4 variant also comes with an 8-inch full-color touchscreen infotainment system that boasts Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.
Safety
In terms of features, the FX4 4x4 also comes loaded with driver-assist features that include: cruise control, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, power-folding mirrors, and electronic power assist steering. All of these features are designed to offer the driver and passengers the maxim safety and convenience that the vehicle can offer.
Power
Under the hood of the Ford Ranger FX4 4x4 is the same 2.2-liter turbo diesel motor that is found in its 4x2 sibling. It produces 157hp and 385 Nm of torque. Like its sibling, it too can be had with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing
The new Ranger FX 4x4 will be available in all Ford dealerships nationwide starting September 25, 2020. It will enter the local automotive market with a starting price of P1,356,000 for the manual variant, and P1,416,000 for the automatic variant. It will be available in five colors which include, Meteor Grey, Absolute Black, Aluminum Metallic, Arctic White, and True Red.
Interested buyers can also avail of an exclusive launch offer of a P50,000 cash discount with their purchase of a Ford Ranger FX4 4x4 in either of its available variants.
