Ford Philippines has officially released teaser images of the upcoming next-generation Ford Ranger. The automaker has stated that the all-new pickup truck will be revealed later this year and is set to launch sometime in 2022, with no specific dates mentioned we expect the new Ranger to officially hit the local automotive market within the second half of the year.
While not much is known about the exact specifications of the all-new Ford Ranger, the teasers present a tantalizing image of what the new truck could look like. At the front, we could likely see the same design language that is present in the Ford F-150. This means that the new Ranger could like receive a much larger and broader front fascia. This can be seen in the pickup truck’s new headlight design along with its new daytime running lights. While the grille itself has been covered, some design elements still poke through presenting a much larger and squarer-looking grille. It could have a multi-layer design similar to what is seen in its bigger brother the F-150. Aside from this, the new model appears to have a new set of bumpers as well as a revised design for the bed. While the image shows what appears to be an extended cab model, the design elements should transition over to the dual-cab variant.
Powertrain options are still unknown for the new pickup truck, however, Ford has stated that it will come with superior off-road credentials and the brand’s dynamic driving DNA. The automaker has also said that “At its core, the next-generation Ranger will be the ideal pickup partner for work, family, and play.” which could likely indicate that there will be new variants for the pickup truck that will cater to these specific needs. With Ford Philippines keeping the reveal date for the next-generation Ranger a tight-lipped secret, we will just have to wait till the automaker makes further teasers or announcements about its upcoming new pickup truck.
