On its 5th running, the Chevy Motorama continued to show what a burning passion the American automaker has for its vehicles, its technologies, engineering, and most importantly for its followers who have been on a roll with one of the most notable Stateside automotive brands here in the Philippines.
Top-brass personalities from General Motors Southeast Asia Operations (GM-SEAO graced the occasion. Headed by Tim Zimmerman (GM-SEASO President), Tadashi Wakamatsu (GM Southeast Asia Gen. Director), and Chee Sing Cheong (GM Southeast Asia Director for Export and Distributions Operations), they ignited some hot vibes, inaugurating the annual 4-day motoring event, and with a number of beautiful Chevy female models serving as the event’s lucky charms, the entire Ice Skating Rink of the SM Mall Of Asia was turned into a place wherein coolness and hotness coexist in the most exhilarating way.
“The Chevrolet Motorama 2014 is particularly significant for us at the Covenant Car Company Incorporated because it also marks our 5th year as Chevrolet Philippines. This annual event allows us to engage with our audience by showcasing Chevrolet’s brand heritage, the exciting cars we have on offer, and the array of high quality Chevrolet products and services. It is a great opportunity for us to touch-base with our customers – a place where our patrons can experience the Chevrolet difference.” says Lyn M. Buena, Senior Vice President and Director, Marketing Services Division of The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI), the country’s exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet vehicle and parts.
the event also hosted the first ever “Transform Your Ride” Chevrolet Dealership Build-Off Competition
Sparking up a three-month long sales campaign just in time for the Holiday season, the 4-day Chevy Motorama event attracted car enthusiasts, Chevy aficionados, and mall-goes, young and old alike. And, to serve as an additional crowd-pleaser, the event also hosted the first ever “Transform Your Ride” Chevrolet Dealership Build-Off Competition, a nationwide challenge wherein participating Chevrolet dealerships from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are tasked to pull out all the stops and come up with the best modded (Transformed) Chevrolet vehicle as their entry to win some prized awards like the Best in Engine Bay Modification, Best in Paint, Best in Body Custom, best Sound Set-Up, the Motorama attendee-votes-based Peoples’ Choice Award, and the highly-coveted Overall Best in Show.
These entries, 16 in total, were showcased during the event, along with some of the Bowtie brands latest models like the Chevy Spin, the Chevy Malibu, the Chevy Colorado, and the Chevy Trailblazer. The 1918 Chevrolet Light Delivery “Cowl Chassis” and the 1955 Chevrolet Pickup were also on display.
Being the “Grand daddy” of all trucks under Chevy, the Light Delivery was the very first truck variant that Chevrolet has ever made, and as their way of showcasing their advancements in automotive engineering, they created the Pickup, which had gained an enormous following, thanks to its purpose-oriented nature and build-quality. Being icons in their own times, the iconic latest generation Chevrolet Camaro was also on the spotlight, and have immediately made photographers and videographers “ROLL OUT” their gadgets, for this car once again starred as the Autobot Bumblebee in the latest instalment of the Transformers Movie franchise.
The 2014 Chevrolet Motorama also was the perfect timing for some new releases, like the latest and refreshed Chevy Sonic, which sports a 1.4L ECOTEC engine, delivering dependable power and performance for the young and the starting families. The all-new Chevy Captiva Diesel was also unveiled, now with a more refined 4x2 layout and a beefy 161hp diesel engine, pulling out 400nm of torque for that much-needed overtaking and climbing capability on and off the road.
Exciting and cool freebies beckoned everyone on this year’s Chevrolet Motorama, including a chance to win a round-trip ticket to Boracay for every Chevy vehicle (Except the Chevy Spark) booked during the course of the Motorama event and delivered within the month of October. Not only that, but an All-In Low Down Payment promo went up for grabs for those would-be Chevy buyers
