Drifting into your parking garage might now be on your bucket list, especially after seeing Hyundai’s drift event for the N model handover. Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) recently celebrated the ceremonial handover of the IONIQ 5 N and Elantra N to the first batch of Hyundai N customers. The event took place on September 7 at Okada Manila.

The ceremony was attended by HMPH President Mr. Dongwook Lee, Managing Director Mr. Cecil Capacete, and N Brand Strategy Team Manager Mr. Jeesang Kim. A total of 18 N units were handed over to customers by Hyundai's four N Dealerships in Alabang, Commonwealth, Makati, and Pasig.
A drift stunt exhibition at the Okada Manila Boardwalk was a feature of the event. Performers included Mr. Audel Sison, also known as Dr. Drift, in the IONIQ 5 N, and his daughters Ms. Ariane Sison, known as Sister Drift, and Ms. Ashley Sison, known as Daughter Drift, in the Elantra N. Additionally, Mr. Sungu Cho, CEO of D Spec Motorsports and a professional drifter from South Korea, showcased the IONIQ 5 N Drift Spec.
The event follows the successful launch of the Elantra N and IONIQ 5 N at the Manila International Auto Show in April 2024, celebrating the beginning of a new chapter for Hyundai N in the country. The event also promoted the growing community of Nthusiasts, with activities like the N Car Meets series and the N Pop-up Store at Karrera Showroom.

Mr. Dongwook Lee, President of HMPH, spoke about Hyundai N's role in redefining high-performance driving in the Philippines. He talked about the brand's dedication to providing innovative and future-ready mobility solutions.
The event concluded with the track being opened for drift taxi rides, allowing customers to experience the thrill of Hyundai N vehicles firsthand. For those interested, the Elantra N and IONIQ 5 N are available for viewing and purchase at Hyundai N Dealerships. Exclusive N merchandise is also available.
