Coming from the success of last year's Fuel Economy Challenge, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is set to go for another round. Last year’s run saw six mu-X and D-Max owners emerge victorious after an intense competition among thousands of hopefuls from Isuzu dealers across the country.
This time, however, IPC will focus on car clubs. The first leg of the Car Clubs Edition of the Fuel Economy Challenge took place on the morning of August 3 at the IPC plant. 12 participating members of the mu-X Owners of the Philippines (mu-X OP) competed amongst each other to gain the most mileage from their Isuzu mu-X RZ4E and its D-Max RZ4E counterpart in a 4.2-kilometer course around the IPC headquarters – the same route taken in by the previous year’s finalists.
The 12 participants were then divided into two groups, wherein six will compete against each other using Isuzu mu-X, and the other six will be using the D-Max. Both of the models mentioned are the 1.9-liter RZ4E variants.
The prizes of this competition are as follows: the champion for each model gets a P7,500 Shell fuel voucher and Isuzu trolley bag, while the rest of the participants get P1,000 worth of Shell fuel vouchers and Isuzu premium items.
Other Isuzu car clubs also had the chance to do the same event challenge. Last August 10 was the turn of Team Isuzu Pilipinas and August 17 will be the turn for Team Isuzu Car Enthusiasts.
IPC has always valued, and strove for, not just power and reliability in all its vehicles, but also fuel efficiency. Our RZ4E Blue power engine exemplifies our effort to produce the most fuel-efficient diesel engine, capable of producing more power for less fuel. But fuel efficiency can only be achieved if the driver practices the best habits of fuel-efficient driving. We also aim to educate drivers about practices that could decrease their fuel consumption and to have a same and efficient driving.
The 2019 Isuzu Fuel Eco Challenge Car Club Edition attempts to bring together the best drives together with the best engine that the company can offer in a small displacement package. This is all for the spirit of camaraderies that exists in every thriving car club which makes the exchange of information about driving efficiently much faster and more effective.
With Shell as its official fuel partner, the 2019 Isuzu Fuel Eco Challenge Car Club Edition is IPC’s way of promoting and advocating fuel-efficient driving. This also highlights the efficiency, power, ride comfort, and durability of the new mu-X RZ4E SUV and D-Max RZ4E pickup with Blue Power Technology.
