Good news! The new C5 Quirino Flyover in Las Piñas has just opened, which means commute time and all that traffic trouble may be lessened.
The new C5 Quirino Flyover extension, featuring two lanes, is now open to the public. Constructed with the goal of providing an alternate route to the Coastal Road, it is anticipated to make the heavy traffic commonly experienced along Sucat and Coastal Road more bearable. Initiated in September 2022, this project will hopefully manage the city’s traffic flow more effectively, aiming to cut down on daily commute times for many motorists.
The structure of the flyover is for safety and accessibility for motorists, particularly those heading to and from busy areas like Ninoy Aquino International Airport and Parañaque City. Through the diversion of some of the traffic from congested roads below, the flyover is expected to reduce the risks of accidents and allow for smoother travel through these areas.
The project received quite a firm support from local politicians, including Senators Cynthia and Mark Villar, who were present during the inauguration. With the flyover now in operation, the daily lives of local residents and the overall economic activity in Las Piñas are expected to see positive changes. Easier access through major roads can lead to faster delivery of goods and services, less stress for commuters, and a more connected community.
The flyover is only a small chunk of a bigger project to improve road infrastructure within the National Capital Region. Costing PHP 300.39 million, the project was made to provide immediate relief from traffic, as well as a preparation for further future developments on the roads of the city involved.
