Mazda’s MX-5 is now on its 4th generation and has come a long way since its introduction in 1989. As a tribute to the Japanese roadster, RealMazdaParts.com, an online seller of genuine Mazda parts and accessories, released a poster showing the evolution of the MX-5.
Interestingly, the poster has no flashy photos of the roadster’s lineage. Instead, it presents a minimalist theme with just the profile outlines of all 4 generations of the MX-5. It also comes with a short spec details for each generation.
Since the 2016 MX-5 won World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year, we created this free download as a way to celebrate. The poster combines the art of clean lines with specs from the first year of each generation. Despite its evolution over the years, the Miata stays true to the original idea: offer everyone an affordable sports car experience,” said Bob Cockerham, director of RealMazdaParts.com.
To date, the MX-5 boasts notable recognitions under its belt. Its light weight, nimble handling, and fuel efficiency caught the attention of Car and Driver, Road & Track, and Automobile Magazine, thus earning it multiple “best of” recognitions from the said motoring publications. It also received a 5-Star rating from the latest Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) safety studies. In addition, the MX-5 reached its 1-millionth production model last April 2016, 27 years after its debut.
