Mazda Philippines presents a minor update to the CX-9 crossover. Bolder, safer, and more premium, the seven-seater elevates what Mazda can offer in terms of class, comfort, and elegance with this new model for 2022.
With its imposing yet elegant presence on the road, Mazda Philippines is proud to elevate the CX-9 experience with the inclusion of a sporty BLACK EDITION variant to the lineup. You can expect new upgrades as well for all three variants of the crossover.
“The Mazda CX-9 has always been at the helm of Mazda’s ongoing journey to premium. As our premier SUV offering, it continues to champion a superior level of quality, richness, and performance that makes it stand out with prestige. We are confident that our discerning clientele will again be enamored by the new CX-9’s presence and the premium stature it affords them.”
Speaking of features, the 2022 Mazda CX-9 will receive a new standard 9.2-inch infotainment display that will now have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. No need to worry about keeping a cable in your car to connect to your infotainment and get all your media displayed in your car. On top of that, wireless charging comes as standard for the model. Auto Hold also makes an appearance alongside an Electronic Parking brake. Also standard is G-Vectoring Plus for added driving sharpness and paddle shifters for more driver involvement. It is important to note that these features are standard across the lineup, so no matter what trim you get, you can expect these top-notch additions.
A total of three variants comprise the lineup, with the top-of-the-line offering being the CX-9 AWD Exclusive. This variant is the only one in the range that has Mazda’s All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system which inspires confidence on and off the road. It dons 20-inch Bright Silver Alloy Wheels and features a new Gray Metallic front grille as well as larger exhaust tip finishers. Inside, the variant now gets Oriental Brown Nappa Leather-lined seats. The driver and front passenger seats are ventilated, and an electronic sunroof can also be had in this variant. Other features include a 12-speaker BOSE Premium Sound System which pairs nicely with the 9-inch Mazda Connect System. For safety, the AWD Exclusive variant gets i-Activsense Safety Technologies which includes Radar Cruise Control and Smart City Brake Support to name a few features.
The next variant in the lineup is the BLACK EDITION, which comes with a new intricate front grille finished in Piano Black. The variant is also fitted with 20-inch Black Alloy Wheels and it also gets other Gloss Black accents, notably found on the side mirrors, to add to the sporting vibe that the CX-9 can exude. The interior is also finished differently compared to the top-spec AWD variant. Instead of brown, the BLACK EDITION gets contrasting Burgundy Leather upholstery with red stitching, and like the AWD Exclusive variant, it also gets power seats along with ventilation for cool comfort. Also trickling down from the top-spec variant is the 12-speaker BOSE audio system, and the same i-Activesense Safety Technology suite of features with Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. On top of that, the BLACK EDITION also comes with a 360-degree camera view to make driving the crossover a breeze.
The most affordable variant in the lineup will be the CX-9 TOURING. This trim level is the least adorned of the bunch, but it is not bare by any means. This model can be had with 18-inch Gray Metallic Alloy Wheels, and it gets Black Leather seats, with power adjustment for the driver and front passenger.
No matter what trim level you get, however, you’ll still receive the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter Dynamic Turbo engine capable of up to 228 hp, and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is powered by gasoline and requires at least 93 RON for ample performance. For its transmission, you get a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic which complements the already impressive driving dynamics of the vehicle.
Pricing for the updated CX-9 is as follows:
- CX-9 AWD EXCLUSIVE at Php 2,990,000
- CX-9 BLACK EDITION at Php 2,790,000
- CX-9 TOURING at Php 2,490,000
The warranty for all Mazda vehicles includes a Five-Year Free Service Plan, which covers the expenses of your intervals from the first six-month, or 10,000 km, to the five-year or 100,000 km mark. On top of that, Mazda Philippines also offers a Three-Year Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty.
