The Montero Sport is getting on a bit in terms of age and the people have been clamoring for a new seven-seater SUV from Mitsubishi. At this year’s Philippine International Motor Show, it seems that Mitsubishi has been listening because they revealed exactly what we’ve been asking for, a new seven-seater SUV. But, this isn’t the next generation Montero Sport, it’s called the DST Concept.
Mitsubishi gave us a teaser of this seven-seater SUV weeks before the reveal and our first impression of the image was that it appeared similar to the XForce. The design, then, looks sleek and sporty, however, there’s a catch as this vehicle is only at the concept stage. So while it gives us an idea of how the final product will look, features and designs may differ when the production version rolls around.
Mitsubishi Motors hasn’t provided any concrete details about the DST aside from providing us the first look. However, Mitsubishi has stated that once the DST enters production it will join Mitsubishi’s offering for the ASEAN region. That means, the production-ready version of the DST will make it to the Philippine market.
Hopefully, it won’t be long before the DST becomes a road-ready vehicle, much like the XForce, sleek, and sporty crossovers with tons of flair are always a welcome addition to the market. Speaking of the XForce, if the XForce’s concept version is anything to go by, we can at least rest assured that most of the DST’s styling will make it past the concept stage.
If you want to take a look at the DST in the metal, you have until October 27, 2024 to give it a look before PIMS closes its doors. Until then, you can check out the rest of Mitsubishi’s lineup at our extensive car guide page on AutoDeal.com.ph.
