Elon Musk might have outdone himself this time. After bringing a number of spectacular electric vehicles into the world through Tesla, the entrepreneur launches another model – the Cybertruck.
You might think that the new Tesla model is an electric pickup truck based on the name alone, and you’re right. However, the Tesla Cybertruck is more than just that. Presented alongside vehicles from sci-fi movies Blade Runner and Back to the Future, the Cybertruck is one future-proof vehicle that looks straight out of Minecraft. Just take a gander at the photos below.
While the new Tesla Cybertruck looks comic in terms of design, its features mean some serious business. The body of the Cybertruck is made out of steel alloy, which Musk touts as both dent- and scratch-resistant. Even better, the edgy truck is also bulletproof, up to 9mm shells. The glass is strong as well, but not strong enough against a sledgehammer attack, mind you.
Armed with an adaptive suspension that can lift the truck by as much as 406 mm (16 inches) from the ground, the Tesla Cybertruck is like a doomsday machine for daily use. It can do off-road, too, with a 35-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle. Just imagine the number of zombies or vampires that you can outrun with this truck.
Watch the demo below:
As for the powertrain, the all-electric pickup truck boasts impressive numbers on paper. The top-spec all-wheel-drive Cybertruck can sprint from zilch to 97 km/h in 2.9 seconds and can run a quarter-mile within 10.8 seconds. Since this is an EV, range numbers are also notable, with the most efficient trim level reaching 805 km in one single charge. The entry-level variant, on the other hand, can reach half of that pure electric range.
For truck duties, the Cybertruck can deliver. Its bed (yes, it has a bed since it’s a pickup) measures 6.5 feet (1,981mm) in length, which puts the Tesla truck at par with the industry standard. It can also tow up to 6,350 kg. We did mention that the Cybertruck mean serious business, didn’t we?

The price of the Tesla Cybertruck starts at $39,900 (or around P2 million at the current exchange rates) and ceilings at $69,900 (~P3.5 million). Tesla’s taking pre-orders for the Cybertruck as early as today in the United States, with deliveries to start by late 2021.
