In January 2023, Nissan unveiled the updated 2024 GT-R at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Despite its age, the 16-year-old R35 GT-R managed to impress car enthusiasts with its redesigned front bumper, new colors, and other updates. As of mid-2023, the updated GT-R is set to hit Philippine roads soon, and a leak has already revealed its suggested retail price of P12.445 million. This is a significant increase from the outgoing 2020 GT-R, which retailed for around P8.9 million. However, it still falls short of the premium price of the 2020 GT-R NISMO, which sold for P13.2 million and went up to a staggering P15 million.

The 2024 GT-R features a redesigned front bumper with upper and lower grilles, paying tribute to the R34 GT-R with a similar design. The lower grille has been given a broader and boxier opening to provide more cooling, while the hexagonal-shaped daytime running lights have been lowered for a sleeker look. The rear has also been given a nip and tuck with added trimming in the exhaust area. These updates aren't just cosmetic, as Nissan claims that the updated bodywork increases downforce while maintaining the outgoing model's 0.26 drag coefficient.

Under the hood, the updated 2024 GT-R boasts a hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that produces the same 565 hp and 633 Nm of torque as the outgoing model. It is paired with the same six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and Nissan's ATTESA ET-S all-wheel-drive system, which can send power to the front or rear wheels depending on road conditions. The 2024 GT-R also features Bilstein DampTronic adjustable shocks, Brembo brakes, and forged RAYS 20-inch wheels.

While the suggested retail price for the 2024 GT-R may come as a surprise to some, Nissan's updates to the car's design and performance show that they are committed to maintaining the GT-R's status as a supercar slayer. With its powerful engine, advanced all-wheel-drive system, and improved bodywork, the 2024 GT-R is sure to turn heads on Philippine roads and beyond.
Now, that we have the price for the 2024 GT-R, could we see a price for the Nismo variant sometime soon as well?
