At this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) Nissan Philippines showcased two things, its electric endeavors, and then a new variant of the Navara for our market. The new variant will go for P1,526,000 (add P15,000 for Aspen Pearl White), and it is essentially a 4x2 Calibre equipped with the trimmings of the top-spec Navara PRO-4X.
If you’re familiar with the kit and look of the PRO-4X, you will know that it’s quite the stunner from every angle. With a price tag that matches its capabilities on and off-road, Nissan fans will find that the new Calibre-X is a bargain of a deal from Nissan Philippines, as it’s an almost spitting image of the top-of-the-line variant.
The Calibre-X is essentially a 4x2 VL model that’s dressed to the nines with PRO-4X goodies. Everything from the Around-View Monitor (AVM) to the capable 2.5-liter inline-four turbo-diesel motor is included in the package, along with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, along with the 7-inch infotainment screen to display it all.
Now customers who want the look of the PRO-4X but without the PRO-4X price tag may go to Nissan Philippines and put in an order for the Calibre-X. You do lose out on the 4x4 system, but for most applications, the 4x2 will do in most cases on the road and on lighter trails. On top of this, the Calibre-X is also more affordable than the range-topping PRO-4X, coming in at just P1,526,000 for all colors except for Aspen Pearl White, now that’s a P15,000 premium over the sticker price.
You can check out the new Calibre-X at the Nissan MIAS booth this year. The unit is right next to the PRO-4X, and we were even confused at which model we should’ve taken pictures of. If that’s not compelling enough, then see it for yourself from today until Sunday, April 10, 2022.
