If you’re a frequent traveler of the North Luzon Expressway, then we have some great news for you. The company has recently completed the installation of a substantial number of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras throughout its extensive tollway network. The total number of cameras operating in the stretch of the NLEX network is a hefty 163 after the installation of 12 more cameras
As per the company's statement, the aforementioned cameras have been strategically positioned along the carriageways and toll plazas. Their purpose is to assist traffic and security teams in the seamless monitoring and effective management of real-time situations across NLEX, NLEX Connector, and SCTEX expressways.
In addition, the tollway company has recently put up three variable message signs (VMS) along the newly opened NLEX Connector Caloocan to España section. This development has increased the overall count of VMS across the entire NLEX expressway network to 31. These message boards serve a valuable purpose in promptly sharing real-time traffic updates and important safety reminders with drivers traveling on the expressway.
“As we expand our roads, we remain devoted to providing a safe and convenient travel experience to the public by boosting our systems in traffic management. These additional cameras and message boards reinforce our main goal of providing safe and hassle-free mobility in all our expressways.”

The CCTV cameras are continuously monitored by traffic control specialists at the Traffic Control Center (TCR) to ensure around-the-clock surveillance and deliver real-time traffic updates in crucial locations.
The TCR serves as the central hub for the expressways' traffic management system, enabling effective traffic control and facilitating the deployment of patrol crews and emergency response teams in response to incidents.
While NLEX Corporation has not explicitly mentioned whether the newly installed cameras include speed cameras that can tag speeding motorists, it’s better to take this new development as a reminder to monitor your speed closely when entering the expressway.
