As the country’s biggest annual Electric Vehicle (EV) conference and exhibition, the EV Summit is poised to bring a lot of innovation and excitement to the country as EVs gain a foothold in the market. The 10th edition of the event will mark the first time in two years that a physical event will be held since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Big names like Nissan Philippines, the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP), and the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) will all be presenters at the event. Expect the all-electric Nissan LEAF to make an appearance once again at the summit, but also expect Nissan's new E-Power Kicks to make an appearance.
The 10th EV Summit wil be both digital and physical. Virtual showcases will be held on the website and mirror what’s happening on the ground at the SMX Convention Center on October 20 and 21, 2022.
Expect the country’s most significant stakeholders, policymakers, regulators, academe, consultants, transport companies, power utilities, and end-users to gather at the event and engage with each other. As the largest EV conference and exhibition event in the country, you definitely do not want to miss this if you’re a fan of emissions-free motoring. Get to know first-hand what the plans are for the electrification of the Philippine automotive industry and more. Talks will be held about the infrastructure and the necessary policies and regulations that need to be set in place for the country’s mobility to evolve from fossil fuels.
As for the notable topics to be discussed and covered during the conference, these will include EVIDA Implementing Rules and Regulations and Comprehensive Roadmap for the EV Industry (CREVI) Updates, Charging infrastructure developments, Global trends and current issues faced by the EV industry, Asian Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (AFEVA) Policy Dialogue, Spurring EV Manufacturing Through Strategic Investment Promotion Plan (SIPP) and the EV Incentive Strategy (EVIS) Public and Private E-Mobility Programs, and as well as EVAP Technology Presentations.
There will also be test drives for EVs during the event and event-goers can also stand a chance to win an e-scooter via a raffle to be held at the event!
“The event aims to showcase the EV industry’s solidarity in fulfilling the policy objectives of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) or Republic Act No. 11697 which aims to incentivize the rapid adoption of electric vehicles and charging stations in the country. In keeping with our President’s message for Filipinos to unite, our theme for the PEVS is aptly titled: ‘United in Driving Electromobility in Support of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) or Republic Act No. 11697’. We believe that generating demand on electric vehicles and encouraging investments in charging stations can help reduce the country's economic vulnerability due to our heavy dependence on oil imports especially during these very challenging times.”
