As part of Mazda’s new lineup of SkyActiv vehicles, the 2019 CX-9 is their flagship seven seater midsize crossover, and it just so happens that the 2018 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) was the perfect time for Bermaz Auto Philippines (BAP) to unveil their range topping variant. Called the 2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature Edition, it builds upon the success and refinements of the CX-9 and adds a host of upgrades across the board.
The 2019 CX-9 Signature Edition stands out in this segment by offering a refined suspension and improved sound deadening, creating a more refined, quiet, and comfortable ride for passengers. The interior is graced by Mazda’s unique Auburn Nappa Leather seats, offering a premium feel in terms of comfort and aesthetics. The steering wheel is leather wrapped and hand stitched, plus the addition of Rosewood interior trimming and additional ambient lighting softens the interior ambience for a more relaxed riding experience. Small touches such as the frameless rearview mirror that is also auto dimming, and the addition of ventilated front seats, all add to the value package of creature comforts.
The 2019 Mazda CX-9 is officially the first ever Mazda model in the Philippines to offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features across all variants. The 8-inch touchscreen and rotary interface work seamlessly with built in phone apps and multimedia sources to offer full functionality. A neat feature found in the Signature Edition is the inclusion of a 12-speaker Bose system, great for long drives that require a comprehensive playlist. The 8-inch screen also projects the 360-degree view monitor that is found in all Signature Editions, utilizing four cameras around the car to map out images and assist in avoiding obstacles and perfecting parking maneuvers.
With the introduction of the 2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature Edition, we provide a full-on luxury driving experience befitting its status as Mazda’s flagship model. Our customers will appreciate the first-class amenities, the refined riding experience, and the highest level of comfort offered by the new top of the line variant of the CX-9.
There’s also a new 7-inch TFT display found in the gauge cluster on all CX-9 Signature Editions, combining information such as trip, fuel economy, safety warnings, and other vital information related to driving. Lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring are still all standard features, making it one of the safest midsize crossovers in its price range. Adaptive LED headlights are also a standard feature on the Signature Edition, while the base CX-9 employs a non-adaptive LED lighting solution.
The 2019 Mazda CX-9 variants are powered by a 2.5L turbocharged gasoline engine that makes 227 hp and 420 Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. SkyActiv technologies ensure fuel efficiency and a dynamic drive. The 2019 Mazda CX-9 Signature Edition is all-wheel drive and is priced at P2,950,000 and is available in Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Titanium Flash, and premium Machine Gray. In addition, the front-wheel drive entry level CX-9 FWD Sport Touring comes in at P2,380,000.
