The 7th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) paves the way for the automotive industry to highlight its best offerings to the local market. Sure, every brand gets dedicated time on the center stage, but one thing stands out this year, and that is Mazda. All eyes are on the premium Japanese brand as it showcases its range featuring the latest evolution of its Kodo: Soul of Motion design language and the most advanced SKYACTIV Technology suite of engineering solutions available to date – something that actually aligns the brand with the PIMS’ theme, Future of Mobility.
This year, Mazda Philippines brings to PIMS an exquisite range of nameplates highlighting the latest rendition of Mazda’s signature design philosophy as well as groundbreaking engineering innovations that introduce the next-generation direction of SKYACTIV Technology.
The Mazda6
All new for model year 2019 is the Mazda6 that comes in its fresh new look. With heightened improvements in dynamic handling, an even more luxurious riding feel with its quieter and smoother cabin, and more powerful 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D engine and more fuel efficient 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine options, the Mazda6 proves class-above quality and drivability to a new generation of car owners who value an exhilarating premium driving experience.
The CX-9 Signature
Also shining through at PIMS is Mazda’s crossover lineup, highlighting an all-new introduction to its flagship CX-9 model range. A true pinnacle of class and refinement in the realm of seven-seater crossovers, the CX-9 Signature is Mazda’s most luxurious vehicle to date. It features an even more elegant interior lined with meticulously crafted Rosewood trim and Nappa leather seats in all three rows. And to further complement the improved driving experience for the CX-9, it is now equipped with Apple Car Play and Android Auto which enhance connectivity and improve interaction between the car and driver.
Both the 2019 Mazda6 and CX-9 continue to come with G-Vectoring Control, the realization of Mazda SKYACTIV Vehicle Dynamics designed to help achieve a smoother, more engaging ride.
The MX-5
The world’s most popular sports car, the MX-5 open-top, two-seat Roadster, will play as the centrepiece of Mazda’s presence at the annual car show, thus putting focus on the brand’s all-encompassing Jinba Ittai or horse and rider driving ethos. The MX-5 now has a higher-revving 184-ps SKYACTIV-G 2-liter gasoline motor and telescopic steering wheel adjustment across the new model range, the 2019 MX-5 in both soft-top coupe and RF lines, continue to heighten the sensation of top-down sports car driving to a whole new level.
The Mazda2, Mazda3 and more
Of course, the full lineup of Mazda vehicles will certainly attract the attention of the patrons of PIMS. The highly efficient and stylish Mazda2, along with the definitive Mazda3 shall complement the premium Japanese brand’s passenger car presentation. Further reinforcing this visual feast is the equally commanding presence of Mazda’s full crossover lineup which also includes the trend-setting CX-3 and the smart and svelte CX-5.
