The new Nissan Terra has been spotted parked somewhere in Thailand. A photo of the updated midsize SUV was uploaded on the ‘Nissan Terra Philippines Forum’ Facebook group. Perhaps, the refreshed model is being tested before it finally hits the Thai market.

The photo was posted by a member named Win Molina. Apparently, it only shows the rear and as expected, selected parts of the vehicle were covered in order to maintain its disguise. Unlike the outgoing model, the Terra badging has been repositioned to the lower right portion of the tailgate. It still gets the four-eye parking sensors and the 360-camera system given the exposed lens on the side mirror. Other notable changes include the new pair of tail lights which houses a fair combination of LEDs and halogen bulbs, a shark’s fin antenna, and the recolored step boards.

By the looks of it, this particular unit could possibly be the equivalent of the Nissan X-Terra’s Platinum trim sold in the Middle East. This is because of its wheels which sort of resembles the look of the 18-inch machine-cut alloy rims.

Upon recalling, a fleet of facelifted Nissan Terras was seen in Thailand last December 2020. Given that this is the second time the model has been reportedly spotted in the country, it seems that the refreshed Nissan Terra could possibly make its ASEAN debut sometime soon, with the Thai market being the first one to get it.
The majority of Nissan Philippines’ vehicle lineup were sourced from Thailand, with that said, this should serve as a proper sneak peek of what’s in store for the Philippine specced Terra. Like the refreshed Nissan Navara, the new Nissan Terra is expected to get the same set of powerplants which should vary per market. Presumably, the Thai-specced models will still come with the same 2.3-liter Bi-turbo diesel while the Philippine-specced model shall solely be available with the tried and tested 2.5-liter turbo diesel, and the VL models get blacked-out exterior trim pieces and wheels as per the most recent update.
We shall uncover more details once it finally breaks cover. Without a doubt, the refreshed model could possibly hit its ASEAN debut anytime soon, and that means good news for us.
