The updated 2024 Mazda2 has discreetly made its debut in Mazda showrooms across the Philippines. This distinctive hatchback can now be yours for the price of P1,250,000.
One of the most notable features of the Philippine version of this car is the absence of the body-colored grille. Instead, the sole Sport model boasts a sleek gloss black mesh grille, which, when combined with the updated bumper, gives the car a rather distinctive mustached appearance. To add a touch of youthful charm, the front grille and bumpers, along with the rear, sport an asymmetrically placed color accent. The 16-inch alloy wheels have also been given a fresh look with a new diamond-cut design. The aesthetic enhancements are rounded off with a black carbon fiber wrap on the roof.
Stepping inside the 2024 Mazda2, you'll find a sharp black interior with striking red accents that extend to the seat stitching and air vent surrounds. The seats themselves have been upgraded with leather and suede upholstery, lending a sporty touch to the interior. Moreover, improvements have been made in the form of enhanced cabin sealing, reducing noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), making it equally suitable for both short commutes and long journeys.
Under the hood, the Mazda2 is powered by the reliable 1.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This powerplant delivers 110 hp and 141 Nm of torque, providing spirited performance for a sub-compact hatchback. For improved handling, Mazda has introduced G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC-Plus), which incorporates brake-based torque vectoring, along with a retuned rear suspension featuring urethane top mounts in the shock absorbers and retuned rear damper valves. The steering has also undergone recalibration for a more responsive driving experience.
In terms of safety, the 2024 Mazda2 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of i-Activsense features, including Front and Rear Smart City Brake Support, Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind-spot Monitoring, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.
The car is available in eight different colors, including Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Polymetal Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, Snowflake White Pearl, Platinum Quartz, Jet Black, and the new Aero Gray option for 2024.
