The 2018 Nissan LEAF made its global debut last month. It featured a new design and an updated technology courtesy of the brand’s Intelligent Mobility, which includes the ProPILOT Assist, Safety Shield, and e-Pedal.
Now, it seems that Nissan’s all-electric hatchback will be getting a Nismo treatment. Auto Express reports that Nissan will reveal the Leaf Nismo concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Nismo, for those who are not aware, is Nissan’s motorsports and performance division.
Based from the snapshot by Auto Express, the Nissan Leaf Nismo concept is fitted with a revamped front bumper, a restyled side skirts, and larger wheels. It also has a two-tone exterior paint as well as red accents. Overall, Nissan’s all-electric hatchback transformed into a sporty and more aggressive vehicle. Who says electric cars look boring?
However, further details are yet to be released by Nissan and we’re still in the dark if the Japanese automaker gave the Leaf a performance upgrade. The standard-spec Leaf is powered by a 148 hp motor that has 320 Nm of torque along with a 400 km vehicle range.
The Nissan Leaf Nismo concept will make its debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, which will be open to the public starting October 27.
