A sports car represents the pinnacle of ambition—something we all admire for its sleek styling and, most of all, its exhilarating performance. However, the reality is that sports cars are hardly practical, nor are they the vehicle of choice for responsible individuals, especially fathers.
Vietnamese carmaker VinFast, however, believes it has found the formula to bring excitement back to family-friendly crossovers. Meet the VF7.
Beneath the floor of the VF 7 lies the true heart of its appeal—an electrified powertrain designed for both performance and efficiency. Two distinct configurations cater to different driving styles.
The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Plus variant delivers an impressive 500 Nm of torque, propelling it from zero to 100 kph in just 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, the VF 7 Base offers a more balanced and efficient drive, with 250 Nm of torque in a front-wheel-drive setup. While the power is tamer, the experience remains anything but dull.
Instant electric torque makes overtaking effortless, while the smooth, controlled response turns every green light into an opportunity.

Beyond straight-line speed, the VF 7’s low center of gravity enhances stability and handling thanks to its battery placement. A sport-tuned suspension balances between agility and ride comfort, keeping drivers engaged while ensuring a smooth experience for passengers.
The VF 7’s range and charging capabilities reinforce its practicality, making it a reliable choice for daily commutes, school runs, and weekend getaways. With a full charge, the VF 7 Plus offers an impressive driving range of approximately 496 km, while the VF 7 Base provides up to 430 km—minimizing the need for frequent charging stops.
Inside, the driver-focused cabin blends sophistication with intuitive technology. At its core, a 15.6-inch touchscreen serves as the command center for navigation, entertainment, and smart controls, reducing clutter while enhancing ease of use. With a roomy second row and generous cargo space, the VF 7 easily accommodates everything from strollers to sports gear, making it ideal for both road trips and everyday life.
In terms of safety, both VF 7 variants feature multiple strategically placed airbags and an advanced suite of Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced protection. Standard safety features include electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, and anti-roll control, ensuring confidence and security on every drive.
Thanks to this combination of features and qualities, the VF 7 proves that being a father doesn’t mean the family ride has to be boring. The era of dull daily drivers is over—just take a look at the VF 7.
