Subaru announced their participation in the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2016 to be held on January 15-17, 2016. Headlining their exhibit will be 3 concept models of Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI).
The concept models at the Subaru booth will be the STI Performance Concept, Levorg STI Concept, and Subaru XV Hybrid STI Concept. As of date, they only released the image of the STI Performance Concept.
The STI Performance Concept will be a BRZ-looking 2-door sports coupe that will represent STI's core. This new model will have suspension and brake enhancements, as well as exterior and interior upgrades that's unique to STI. Under its hood will be a STI-tuned EJ20 horizontally-opposed 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo racing engine.
Meanwhile, the Levorg STI Concept will come in WR Blue Pearl color, STI-tuned dampers, and premium STI-designed 18-inch aluminum wheels. Its interior will be clothed in red-wine/black 2-tone fashion with exclusive accessories.
Lastly, the Subaru XV Hybrid STI Concept will come in Quarts White Silica color with orange accents. The interior will also be accentuated with orange and beige trims. It will then be equipped with STI sports parts which will boost this hybrid model's stability and ride quality
Aside from the concept models, WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016 – a racing car for the 24-hour Nürburgring endurance race in 2016 – and Subaru BRZ GT300 2016 for Super GT race will also be showcased.
