The enhanced community quarantine has brought the country to an abrupt halt. This has limited transportation and the movement of people. It has also put many automotive and motoring events on hold. It makes it particularly hard for car enthusiasts as many cannot leave their homes to go out for a drive. Thankfully Tuason Racing School (TRS) and Phoenix Fuels have a solution for this. They have partnered up to give racing enthusiasts the chance to scratch their racing itch and lend a helping hand at the same time in the country’s fight against COVID-19.
The two companies will be using the Phoenix Petroleum Young Driver’s Program for E-sports. In this program, racers compete against one another for the chance to represent the Philippines at the FIA games happening later this year. The event also marks the 21st year of TRS in business. Through this event, both companies are lending out a helping hand to medical professionals in the field. They will be donating one meal to frontliners for every race participant that joins in on the event on April 20, 2020. These meals will be given out to different hospitals in Metro Manila.
The aim of the Phoenix Petroleum Young Driver’s Program (YDP) is designed for a virtual platform and paves the way for more enthusiasts to participate in motorsports despite the enhanced community quarantine. It also gives participants the opportunity to compete in the global arena later on. The program aims to be a grassroots virtual competition that compliments the various other programs of Tuason Racing School such as the Giti- Formula V1 Race Challenge and the Toyota Vios Racing Festival.
For those who are interested, you can register for free through the Tuason Racing Facebook page or through the link. Participants can opt to enter the YDP search or just race for a good cause. Special prizes are up for grabs to participants and spectators alike. The race event will be live-streamed on Facebook and will be hosted by Tuason Racing CEO and Founder JP Tuason. For those who want to join the YDP search, it is important to note that participants should have a valid passport for travel until June 2021. The participants must also be willing to complete the three stages of the search, which may include an on-ground competition.
Expanding into Esports is one of the highlights of our 21st year in the business. We have been bringing racers to compete all over the world. This time we are opening another career ladder, a virtual one
Tuason continues by stating “With the ongoing situation, we believe we can hit two birds with one stone, first is to be able to do our part and help frontliners. The second one is to provide racing enthusiasts a worthwhile activity while they stay home and help flatten the curve.”
