
Volkswagen Philippines experienced a good 2015 to say the least as they achieved positive media exposure, strong sales figures, and a bunch of industry awards along the way. In light of this, the German automotive maker promised that 2016 will be “more exciting”.
Volkswagen PH's 2015 success
Volkswagen hogged the media limelight during the Papal Visit mid January 2015. This was all thanks to the Touran being appointed the official car of the Pontiff.
Things didn't slow down for Volkswagen after as they launched the Child Safety Initiative (CSI) campaign during the 2015 Manila International Auto Show. This led to subsequent rollouts in malls, dealerships, and schools. CSI received the Best Practice in Road Safety in 1st Stig awards of Top Gear Philippines.
The German automaker also took home awards from the Auto Focus People's Choice and Media Choice Awards for Golf GTI, Touareg, Touran, and the iconic Beetle. It's notable that the Golf GTI is one of the most awarded vehicle in the country in 2015 which included the Best Sports Hatch by Car Awards Group Inc, the media-based organization in charge of handing out the Car and Truck of the Year- Philippines.
2015 also saw several new vehicles launched such as the Polo Hatchback, the Golf GTI, and the 2015 European Car of the Year – The Passat.
Starting 2016 strong
Volkswagen PH started the year with a bang with the recent launch of 3 new vehicles - These are the new Jetta Sedan (Comfortline, Trendline Diesel, Gas AT variants), new Polo Sedan, and the new Tiguan. All which featured notable interior, exterior, and safety upgrades.

Chief Operating Adviser Klaus Schadewald also announced the upcoming releases of the Comfortline and Highline variants of the Golf, R-Line of the Passat and Touareg, and the return of the Beetle Dune assuring that 2016 will be “more exciting”.
