Not only did Volkswagen steal the crown from Toyota as the world’s best-selling automaker, it also got the hearts of the Filipinos. Volkswagen Philippines surpassed its 1000-unit sales mark within just 3 years of operation in the country.
With the 1,060 units sold for the whole 2016, Volkswagen PH claims that they are the country’s number 1 European car brand for 2016. Volkswagen PH believes that this achievement is caused by its recent expansion of dealerships.
Apart from the 5 dealerships in Taguig, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, and Cebu, 3 more dealers were added in 3 other cities: San Fernando, Pampanga as well as Iloilo and Bacolod City in Western Visayas. The expansion allowed the company to broaden its network in vehicle distribution, as well as widen the scope for its consumers.
While the growth in sales may be directly contributed by its expansion, VW also believes that the spike in sales could be influenced by the awards from its various models. Such contributor for the sales performance is the Passat, which yielded the Car of the Year-Philippines award in the Mid-Size Luxury Sedan category.
Furthermore, the rest of its lineup which includes, the Beetle, Touareg, Tiguan, Touran, Golf and Golf GTI, Polo sedan and hatchback, and the Jetta sedan also contributed to the overall achievement.
