This coming weekend, the people of Mindanao will finally get the chance to experience what German engineering is all about. That’s because Volkswagen Philippines is visiting the region this month of May for a Road Show.
6 models from the Volkswagen’s line-up will be on display and be available for test drive: the Tiguan 1.4 TSI MT, Tiguan 2.0 TDI AT, Beetle 1.2 TSI MT, Touareg 3.0 TDI AT, Polo Hatchback 1.6 MPI AT, and the Jetta 2.0 TDI DSG. Visitors will be also able to avail of special offers and bring home premium items from Volkswagen Philippines.
The Volkswagen Road Show will first hit Centrio Mall in Cagayan De Oro from May 13 to 15, then Abreeza Mall in Davao from May 20 to 22, and finally in Veranza Mall in General Santos City from May 24 to 26.
To give you an idea what these VWs are, the Tiguan is a 5-seat crossover that flaunts sporty looks and 17-inch alloy wheels. The models at the show come with a 1.4 L engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0 L diesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic.
Meanwhile, the 21st century Beetle stays true to its roots with its recognizable iconic shape. The variant they’ll bring comes with a stylish set of 16-inch alloy wheels, leather seats, and a RCD 310 Radio with 8-speakers. Its 1.2 L gasoline engine can produce 104 hp and 175 Nm of torque.
On the other hand, the Touareg is powered by a massive 3.0 V6 TDI diesel engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This SUV comes loaded with safety features such as driver, passenger, side, curtain, and knee airbags as well as front and rear parking sensors, ABS, immobilizer, security alarm, and cruise control.
As for the Polo Hatchback, this is Volkswagen’s way of offering a fun, sporty ride at a great price point. It’s powered by a spritely yet-fuel efficient 1.6L gasoline engine and reach a top speed of 184 km/h. The 5-door hatch can seat 5 people and carry up to 952 L worth of cargo.
Lastly, the top-of-the-line Jetta available during the road show features leather trims on the handbrake, gear shift knob, and steering wheel to give it a touch of class. The compact sedan comes standard with 6 airbags, cruise control, and park distance control. Under the hood is a 2.0 L diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Be sure to bring your family and friends to the Volkswagen Road Show each weekend of May as it heads to different malls in Mindanao.
