While others are living in their own bubbles at night, the Volkswagen Polo GTI was taken to a drive to Autobahn, Germany to see how good its performance would be.
Well, the Polo GTI managed to meet everyone’s expectation, surpassed it even. If you’re going to look closely around the 5:19 mark, the digital speedometer hit 244 km/h. The catch is that the hatch’s recorded speed is quite higher than the top speed posted on specs sheet, which is 237 km/h. What made this possible is that it was a night drive, so there were only few cars, giving the man a great opportunity to bring out the best in Polo GTI.

Another factor to this great performance, is the 2.0L turbocharged engine that can churn out a maximum output of 197 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This powertrain is then connected to 6-speed dual clutch transmission.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen Philippines has recently introduced five new models for 2018, which are specifically designed to meet the standards of the Asian and Philippine market. The Santana compact sedan, Tiguan crossover, and Lavida sedan are now available in VW dealerships, while the Lamando sedan and Santana GTS will follow by November.
As the Volkswagen PH move towards tackling wider range of market, do you think they will bring the hot-looking VW Polo GTI in the Philippine shores, soon? We can all hope for the best, right?
